New Nurse- possible agency nurse?
Hello all. I was in the same boat when I graduated last year, though I am from Denver. I landed my first nursing job doing flu shots and met another new grad who introduced me to Supplemental Healthcare and they were the ONLY agency to take new grads in the area of correctional nursing. I know there's a branch in Houston and San Antonio and they place all over the state. You might want try to them.

How long between graduation and NCLEX?
I graduated last year and it took a long time for me to get approved most bc my transcript was lost by DORA 3 times. :/ I didn't test until the first week of August and I graduated May 16th

Seton Versant Residency Program
It was strange bc I was told that someone wanted to interview with me month ago and I told them I'm out of state and I needed some advanced notice and my email was never returned. I wasn't too sold on the Austin area so it's fine that it didn't work out.

is it to late to apply for internship?
I'm from and currently living in Denver so I'm pretty open to moving to anywhere. Relocation really isn't a big deal for me. It's just getting out of my current areas of nursing and doing something I WANT to do. I have an interview at MD Anderson in Houston later this month so hopefully that works out. I haven't had much luck in the DFW area

is it to late to apply for internship?
I hate the search page for HCA....but the positions are for the Medical Center of Arlington. If you just search in North Texas and look for RN/GN positions they should show up. There's some for Med/Surg, L & D, Surgical Care, and a couple others

is it to late to apply for internship?
There's still new opening showing up daily. HCA North Texas posted up some today. Keep trying!!

Parkland info
I guess I should be expecting the same emails as well then....no es BUENO!!!! But since I am a 'new grad' with 6 months of non acute experience, this was kind of expected.

Parkland info
As did I. That was only from the ER department though we shall see how my other 20+ applications go with Parkland.

Parkland info
Ummmm yeah it's nice to know I'm not the only one who's in panic mode. I too applied a few weeks ago and then I had to re-submit my work applications because the system was unable to properly save my work application....so right now everything just says applied Methodist pretty much shot down 3/5 of my applications and I have 15+ floating around the metroplex and I'm praying that it works out.

Brand New Nurse! No job :(
All praises be to the Lord! Congrats! I am looking to move to the DFW area as well and I have less than of a year experience in a non-clincial setting. I have applied to all the new grad programs but I would like to have a backup plan. May I ask, where did you apply?

Colorado New Grads- Do you have jobs?
I graduated in May 2005 from a school in Ohio, passed boards in August, and lucked up with work in Sept. I am working in the areas of drug rehab and corrections. I hate it. So now I'm focusing my attention to jobs outside of Colorado

Denver jobs for new grads
maybe the situation will be different from mine, but as newer grad with about 6 months of experience, the market is terrible...so bad in fact that I'm apply to positions in Texas and if I am offered a job, I'm leaving...no questions.

CU-Denver Hospital New Grad Residency Program
I'm from Colorado so I'm not completely alone but I would like to move away eventually and as with you, midwest living was not for me lol. It's a different world out there. I heard about the hospital in Brownsville and I'm not against moving away at all...I should look into it if my fall job hunt doesn't fair any better. I know there's a few hospitals doing fall new grad entries so I'm trying to wait but I'm not going to hold my breath for those...and I'm at the point where I'm looking into things I know that I don't want to at all...i.e., psych nursing.

CU-Denver Hospital New Grad Residency Program
Nurse901, I went to Xavier University of Cincy which isn't a no-name school and has one of the best nursing programs in that region but that really doesn't matter over here. I really lucked up bc there was no waiting list with their program, small classes, and I started taking nursing course my 1st year in. I loved it there...wouldn't trade it for the world, but if I would have known it was going to suck this bad out here, I would have stayed in Ohio were most of my classmates are employed....I feel like I really dropped the ball with that one. I applied to a few in TX and I might look at Ohio again but unless there's some kind of relocation assistance, there's no way I can move from Denver. I just don't have the money.

CU-Denver Hospital New Grad Residency Program
I didn't know they weight so heavily on GPA and considering mine was just a 3.2 and compounded that I got my BSN outside of CO probably worked against me. I think the facility is great but it seems like its impossible to get into so if I really want to work there, I might have to just get experience else where and work my way in...I am hoping the other hospitals are a little more generous with new grads....
