Sentara 2017 Start Date

Hello! I am planning to apply to Sentara College of Health Sciences for their 2017 start date. I am making this thread in hopes that I will find some other people applying for this start date so that I can get a better idea of the GPA and teas scores that others have that are applying. I was also hoping to get advice from current or former Sentara students regarding the admissions process and teas testing. Also any important information about the program and deadlines. Thanks in advance! :)

@Marvella as of right now I have not applied anywhere else! I was also interested in looking into the Riverside program but I have not done that yet!

@mccuejl55 we are in similar situations! I got a 78.7% on my TEAS and I have a 3.8 GPA.. Now all we can do is wait until June 30th and hope for the best!!

@mccuejl55 @Baker93 Yes I received an email from Sentara on May 25th saying that they had received my application with a letter document attached that was thanking me for applying to the program.

Dang i never received anything but I also sent my application through and email and my application was just done last week. I just called becuase before they said all they needed was my teas scores. They told me that they have about 50 different scores for people they are putting in for but as long as i sent it in i should be good. I would hate for the reason i didnt get accepted to be due to not everything being submitted. Then im out 200 dollars for nothing.

@Baker93 @km123, That is what I am worried about! I actually faxed my application in because i was having trouble submitting it online. I called and confirmed that they recieved the fax.

Is anyone going to be moving to that area upon accpetance? Or does everyone already live in that area?

Yeah i called Monday and they were only waiting on yeas scores which were sent Saturday so they probably hadnt gotten to them yet.

I will be moving to the area but im from norfolk just living in nc while hubby is stationed there

I will be moving to the area but this is not contingent on my acceptance into the program, my husband is being stationed in the area. I emailed my transcripts and did an online application and I got an email on Friday asking for my transcripts. I called them right away to confirm that they received my emailed transcripts and the woman I spoke with had to locate them. Im so nervous that my transcripts will be misplaced :/

You could always call back this week and make sure. I didn receive a confirmation email until friday so they may still be processing application parts as well.

I just started looking at sentara 3 weeks ago since i already had all 49 pre-reqs but, didn't have money to apply or take the TEAS V so i wasn't going to apply. But a few days till deadline i got some money applied and took the TEAS V in a haste. My GPA is a 3.6 and TEAS V score is 78 so i doubt i'll get in. Would have been nice to be able to retake the TEAS, I know i can get 90 easy after my first experience but we'll see. Good luck to you all. I received a confirmation email also.

Thanks, i toom the teas to in a haste and wasnt very happy knowing i could do better. The applicant pool is different every year so we all have a chance. Good luck to you as well!

holey moley i got accepted. to those who did congratulations, and to those who got wait listed maybe someone wont be able to go for who knows what reason and you get accepted later.
