Sent Check to BVNPT waiting for license couple questions

Published

So I sent a check 150$ to BVNPT for my license. Regular mail.

1. Should I have sent it via certified mail?

2. How long does it take from the moment I send my mail from so cal to sacremento, to getting my name listed on the online verification form. I passed postmarked August 27, sent a check on August 30. And Im still waiting for my name to appear online and my actual license.

3. Does the California bvnpt have an actual person working in the office, because I have called them everytime, and they say the line is currently busy etc etc. And Ive been trying to get a hold on an operator, but there is no on actually at the office everytime I call them during business hours.

4. Do monkeys run the offices at the BVNPT? Honestly I never seen a operator pick up a phone, and I call in early at 8:00 AM, tried calling every hour thereafter, and no one picks up.

The individuals who are employed at the BVNPT are California state employees, which means that they're working short-handed due to budgetary constraints, furloughs, and the crappy economy. Therefore, expect to be on hold forever if you place a phone call.

Your license number will be posted online in the near future, so be patient. Anyhow, there's no need to rush to receive your LVN license because the nursing job market in the Golden State leaves much to be desired (read: lack of jobs).

Well ended up calling them at 8:00 as soon as they open, and ended up waiting for 30 minutes to talk to an operator. Thats a first.

Long story short, mail is overwhelming and they are running behind and said that processing takes 4-6 weeks.

Guess im stuck with my current job till I get my license.

I always send important things via certified mail, return receipt requested. The BVNPT office personnel are very nice when you go to conduct business in person. Sometimes worth a trip, even from long distances.

then its time to take my personal check and drive on up to Sacramento

from LA

on my 96 kia sephia. I doubt Il make it though.

Did you get it yet? It's been 3 weeks for me, and I know they are backed up, but would be nice to know how backed up thet really are. How long did it take from the day you sent in your money to the day you got your actual license?

Sent August 27, got the real license September 28.

I've been waiting 3 and a half months for my security check to clear for my PT license Answering machine says wait. Is this normal?
