Hello,

I saw your post and wondered if you took the job at Select? I am in nursing school, and have been offered a position as a CNA at a Select hospital in Tulsa. I am pretty interested, as my aunt was in a Select hospital in Kansas for several weeks. It seems like it might be a good place to learn a lot while being a student. If you are working there, could you fill me in on the pros and cons and what you get to do as a nurse, and if it would be beneficial for a student.

Specializes in post surgical, tele, icu.

patients that come from this facility to the hospital seem to alwas have skin breakdown, infections, and lack of ROM. A doctor at my hospital said he pulled a patient out of there when he wrote an order to test the nurses and the nurses didn't get that it wasn't a real order (didn't involve any medication or real nursing action). Instead of questioning why he wrote what he did the nurse said they can't titrate, idicating she'd have carried out the order to put a pillow on the patient's face tid, but couldn't titrate for effect.

I've never been impressed with the state of the patients that come from there.
