Seeking good pay-agency/nhs

Published

Hi all,

Im an Australian nurse just arrived in England, and have been told that basically now all London agency rates have been capped, and that you should be expecting around 12-15 pds an hour. I really need to get some cash together at the moment-working as a psychiatric nurse-does anybody have any suggestions where there are good options in the UK to earn? Preferably with accomodation?

Regards,

Ian

to be honest I don't think you will find anything that includes accomadation. Pay tends to be the same regardless of which agency you go with Looking away from London is definately the option as living costs will be cheaper

Hi Ian,

I want to move to London in about three years and I was wondering how long it took you to get certified through the NMC. best of luck with the job hunt. Have a great day.

Why dont you apply for a permenant job outside London, there is always a shortage of psychi nurses.

I Know there is big clamp down through the NHS on using agency because the NHS is bankrupt and trusts are desperatly trying to save money by what ever means they can. My agency staffing budget has been quartered since august, and we are given it month by month and we cant overdraw. I have never known anything like it.

Good luck-I know that if you get a job with St Thomas's or Guy's they offer accomodation at around £250 per month.
