OP:
Ask the program director for help. I'm sure the school has many good relations with NPs or MDs in the community who would be willing to work with you. After all, they should be happy to pay it forward and offer to train you for free. You see there are so many altruistic preceptors out there who would love to have you tag along.
Some of the most gracious preceptors who love to train preceptors for free are other NPs who realise how important doing good works are. Bless their giving hearts in gladly showing how caring they can be. There surely is a special place at God's right hand for most of these folks. And there are really so many of them! That's what's ridiculous!
If you just speak to the director, I'm sure she has binders full of willing practitioners who have rung her up, maybe even on a daily basis, to give the school their availability to help students.
After all, shouldn't they want to do the right thing just like the school wants to. (this I know)
Now I do believe you are dealing with honorable people at the school and they really care about you but next time get the preceptorship problem resolved in writing ahead of time so you don't find yourself stranded because you probably signed an arbitration agreement so you have almost zilch legal recourse if by some small chance the school has deceived you and led you on. Impossible!!!
But I'm sure this could never be the case because the school is most likely accredited by some of nursing's most respected accrediting organizations like the CCNE or the ACEN.
So with this said I wouldn't worry when you have so many uncompromised caring people and organizations of nursing looking out for your well-being and investment in your time, money, hopes and aspirations. ( really the caring here is astounding, believe me)
Try not t lose sight of the fact that in nursing, the majority of nursing REALLY care. So get ready for the phone to ring incessantly off the hook because from now on you're going to learn the stuff your peers and educators and school are really made of.

This site has a list of NP organizations that has preceptors listed http://www.theagapecenter.com/…/Spec…/Nurse-Practitioner.htm. The link is broken so you will have to copy and paste the organization name into the search engine. You can also check out https://npfinder.aanp.org to locate a preceptor. I live in Dallas, TX and just last week I was able to locate preceptors in Houston, San Antonio and Waxahachie through TNP. I hope that this helps.
