Second time taking the NCLEX, Help!!!

Published

Hey all!! I am in need of some help. I failed my first time taking the NCLEX, terrible feeling emotionally and embarrassing at the same time. When I took it I had a lot of select all that apply, med questions, one ekg, a bunch of delegations and priority questions. I was shocked when I found out that didn't pass but complaining is not going to get me anywhere. I am reaching out for some help for studying and passing for my second time around. I used Kaplan mainly but honestly didn't get much out of it, a little bit of nurse RN mastery and Saunders. I studied about 4-6hrs a day for about 6 weeks, 2,000-3,000 questions and prayed so much that I would study well and also pass my NCLEX-RN. I have heard that uworld is great and so is mark klimek. I would appreciate any help or input that anyone might have!!!

Hi there msmall,

I also failed my first time but passed my second time with only 80 questions.

Study hard and stay positive, believe in yourself. God has a plan for all of us. I studied Kaplan, Saunders, Uworld, lacharity by linda. Do as many practice questions as you can.

Good luck my friend, will be praying for you

Hi, I failed my first attempt with 75 and passed my second time with 75! It really does suck to fail. :( I pretty much just used uworld the second time around. I would sometimes go into Saunders to look up certain topics/weak areas of mine. But I just read the rationales, and made flash cards of things I didn't know/needed to remember. And then I would continuously look over those flash cards before I practiced the next time. I've heard nothing but good things about uworld!! You can do it! You will get there! Positive, positive talk and thoughts! Good luck

stay focused and you will do great, have faith

Thank you for all your advice and support!

I am going to order uworld. Thank you for you advice and help! After reading past posts on here is sounds like that a lot of people thought uworld helped them the next time around for passing the NCLEX. I would love hurst but it's so expensive, but on the other hand I would rather pay what I can I order to pass and not fail for a third time.

yes, review courses are expensive but they are worth it. You would rather pay than fail, you're absolutely right.

Best wishes and good luck. I will be praying for you my friend.

I also failed my first try in July. It's is extremely devistating and I was depressed and took a break from July-August. September first I bought NCSBN learning extension review for the NCLEX. I purchased the 5 week plan, only 70$. I as well used Kaplan through school and even bought Hurst review. Both great reviews I'm sure, but didn't work for me. NCSBN learning extension was the GREATEST purchase I could have made. I just retested on Tuesday October 11, and passed in 75 questions! I highly suggest this review as the questions are so similar and the content is broken down into the same exact categories as the NCLEX. (Management of care, basic care and comfort etc.) YOU CAN DO THIS.

Thank you for all your help and advice I have been reading and I think I am going to purchase the NCSBN test review. Iam going to do the three weeks study!
