Second-Entry Nursing Programs - 2014 Hopeful

Published

Hi Everyone!

I'm starting this topic for those who are applying to 2nd-entry programs, to start in 2014.

A bit about myself:

I'll be applying to University of Ottawa and University of Toronto.

Graduated with a Social Science degree from Ottawa U w/ 7.2 CGPA (aka 3.33 on 4.0 scale, or a B+)

A lot of community involvement in health promotion, youth counseling programs, women's health research..

Currently taking the prerequisites...

I'm kind of nervous about the applications because I know how competitive these programs are... Any advice from current 2-year BScN students would be great!

Let's get this thread going

Sorry! I didn't see this message earlier. But for some reason it's not showing up on my Facebook.

To get into the group I put w ww.facebook.com/#

I don't know if anyone would know this, but can the fact that you accept one offer (due to the expiry day or whatever other reason) hinder your chances of getting an offer at a different school?

The group is for queen's. Try searching in the search bar at the top "Queen's AST Nursing 2016" or...

facebook.com/groups/#

replace # with 678386468887694

I don't know if that violates the Terms of Service on the site, but I hope it helps

Okay this makes sense. I tried it a couple different ways and it just says link may have been broken or removed. :(

@NeuroMaz

It's extremely unlikely that schools compare notes in this way. They have way too much to do at this time of year to be bothered with checking who has accepted registration where.

Okay, I was able to find this group on my first try. I think we can discontinue the repetitive and redundant posts about it.

Does anyone know how McMaster applies the Supplementary Application and your CGPA for evaluating your

entrance. Is there a percentage for each?

Hi there, I also applied to Trent compressed program pretty late, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing when you applied and your average.

Has anyone applied to lakehead compressed program and heard back? would you mind sharing your stats and deadlines to accept the offers. I applied but applied pretty late, so just wondering what my chances are...

I got accepted to Lakehead a while ago, I want to say end of February. I have to respond by May 1. I don't know how they calculated by GPA because at the time I was in the middle of completing ANP (even though it's not required for them). My total GPA was 3.9. I have to say, out of all the school's I've applied to, Lakehead has been the best to communicate with. Always very friendly and prompt in replying to emails and phone calls.

Thanks for your reply, will you be accepting the offer?

I think Lakehead is a great school and I would like to go there, but I've also applied to Western and I prefer that it's so much shorter. So if I find out that I get into Western, I will decline my offer, otherwise I will be accepting.

does any one know if there is a deposit required when you accept Queens?
