Please, I really need help. I really want to become a nurse. But I am struggling. I am not sure what route to take. I currently have a Degree in "Healthcare Administration". I wanted to go the "accelerated nursing" route but I do not have the best GPA from my degree(2.3) . I have a few prereq's that I still need to take to take ,But I just don't know what to do. LPN, ADN, or try ABSN route? Any advice will help. Anyone familiar with accelerated programs that don't focus on the first degree gpa and maybe just the pre-requisites ?. I am originally from California where the competition is deathly . I am so motivated that I am willing to travel . Any advice will be helpful thank you in advance

Research, research, research.

1. Identify the states you are willing to relocate to for nursing.

2. Identify the schools you want to apply to.

3. Identify the programs (ADN, BSN or ABSN) you want to apply to.

4. Based on the programs requirements, complete the pre-reqs.

5. Apply to the program, and wait.

State(s) ---> School(s) ---> Eligible program(s) ---> Pre-reqs ---> Apply

The lowest First degree GPA that I have seen was 2.5. Almost all will have a minimum application of 2.75-3.0. That is the minimum GPA to apply. The people that they accept have a GPA from their first degree well above 3.0. Just like traditional ASN and BSN programs, ABSNs are very competitive. Your best bet is to complete your pre-reqs with As and Bs and apply to traditional ASN and BSN programs. You don't meet the minimum qualifications for any ABSN program.
