Seattle University - Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) Summer 2025

Published

Hi everyone!

I decided to create a new forum for everyone who applied to the APNI program for the Summer 2025 term. I applied for the FNP specialty and am still waiting to hear back about whether I got an interview or not.

Does anyone else have any updates?

- Meghan 🙂

I think everything went well with the interview portion. The breakout portion had me a bit nervous because the students talked about how difficult the first 2 years of the program is and that they were in campus everyday which I didn't plan for. Also one of the girls said she was waitlisted a couple of times before she got accepted which added to the nerves. They wanted me to clarify my transcripts and talk about my grades because a few of them were low but I think I clarified enough to explain my situation. Which program did you apply for?

That's interesting that they asked about transcripts. Do you remember who your interviewers were? My questions were pretty straight forward and mostly related to my experience. The two students I got to speak to said they were only in class for two days and then 12-hour clinicals on two other days

What program are you applying for? because im sure we would have different schedules in different programs. And they didn't ask me about my experience at all so I'm guessing it must have been something on your application that they wanted you to clarify or explain further because they brought up my transcripts way at the end and it wasn't a question it was just during conversation. I youtubed alot of  Nursing school  interviews afterwards and alot of students said that if they ask about something specific they are looking for you to clarify.

From the sounds of it, the first year seems to the the same for everyone pre-NCLEX. It's once the DNP portion begins that you're sequestered into your chooses track

I received an email about a financial aid meeting today, I'm going to go. I'm hoping it answers some of my questions about scholarships and financial aid. Anyone else thinking of going?

I was thinking of going as well. Couldn't hurt to hear all options available.

I'm thinking to attend also. I need to figure out how to make this work as an out of state student with housing.

Did anyone apply to any other programs out of state or in? I'm getting antsy because I have several applications out and I got accepted into another program but I'm holding out for this one since I live here and moving would be a pain in the butt LOL

Just got done with my interview for the FNP track! It was nerve wrecking but I did my best. Now the wait for decisions.

Congrats and hope it went well!
What kinds of questions were you asked?

They asked me about an example of patient centered care and the big question was to talk about an instance where a conversation was had not in my favor.

I know we are all waiting until March for replies, which seems so far away right now. I'm doing a lot of cleaning, reading, and walking right now to keep myself busy. Thinking of cleaning out the pantry today.

Are you all coping well? What are you doing for self-care?

Just freaking out because I have been accepted into a nursing school in Colorado to their acclerated BSN Program  but of course waiting on this program because I live here and of course the end goal is to be a NP. Both programs start close together so it will legit be a fast move if I don't get into this program 😅 I should probably do some self care like you have been doing.
