Seattle University - Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) Summer 2025

Published

Hi everyone!

I decided to create a new forum for everyone who applied to the APNI program for the Summer 2025 term. I applied for the FNP specialty and am still waiting to hear back about whether I got an interview or not.

Does anyone else have any updates?

- Meghan 🙂

General Program Information

Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP)

Family Nurse-Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (FNP or AGNP)

Certified Nurse Midwifery (CNM)

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)

Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP)

Does anyone know roughly how many people are accepted in relation to how many are interviewed?

Specializes in FNP.

Received an FNP interview invite today. Haven't chosen the date, but the available are 2/1 or 2/8.

Hi everyone! I got an invitation for an interview for the APNI PMHNP last week and am very excited! Has anyone heard anything about interview tips/questions (generally or specific to program)?

Oh wow! Congrats! I was sort of hoping that the PMHNP interview invites hadn't gone out yet, but I must not be first string. 😉  Good luck on your interview!

Hi! Congrats to you!

In one of the previous channels for this program, someone posted this:

"really know the NP role you are trying to pursue and how your story and values align with Seattle U's mission"

"tell them the story of your life and how it relates to your journey to nursing and your track. develop a few story-type examples that can answer many different types of interview questions, identify important stories from your life that highlight your values/strengths/areas of growth."

"show your commitment to serving vulnerable populations and to combating social injustice, they want dynamic candidates with strong morals"

I just chose my Feb 1st interview invite for the FNP track. I'm an East coast applicant. Somewhat scared on what costs of living in addition to tuition would look like for me. Excited for the opportunity however. The East coast is too dense with healthcare education programs to give everyone a fair shot. This was also one of the few programs I could find where I didn't need the developmental psych course. Been on a more preMed/prePA course for some time so this wasn't a course I needed to take on that path. However have probably taken every other biological science course for my health science undergrad and biotechnology grad degrees.

Congrats on the interview! I won't lie, the cost of living here is pretty high depending on where you live. I have a roommate and I think a lot of people end up with one. East Coast prices are pretty high, so you are more than likely used to the cost of groceries, gas, and other necessities. I have no idea what the financial aid packages look like. Do you?

This I'm not entirely sure about. I assumed I would be living off loans for the duration of the program.

Congratulations and Good luck! I also just completed my interview and time speaking with current student(s). I too was super nervous but I will say everyone was very chill and pleasant which made me relax into it. I feel good about it. They said by March we would be hearing back about acceptances/rejections.

Hi! I felt pretty good about it! There were a few questions where they wanted me to clarify my answer a bit since I guess I answered too broadly. But I feel like it went well! I was definitely so nervous and I think I blacked out for the entirety of the first question LOL. How about you?

I think everything went well with the interview portion. The breakout portion had me a bit nervous because the students talked about how difficult the first 2 years of the program is and that they were in campus everyday which I didn't plan for. Also one of the girls said she was waitlisted a couple of times before she got accepted which added to the nerves. They wanted me to clarify my transcripts and talk about my grades because a few of them were low but I think I clarified enough to explain my situation. Which program did you apply for?
