I haven't see anything on Seattle U's BSN program, has anyone applied ? I am waiting to hear back from them, not sure if its this month or next or even April.
I think so, especially since this is a post-bacc degree for me. It seems like schools are more apt to give grants to first-degree students or people contining on to their master's degree. This is sort of the same reason why I wrote in my personal statement about how I wanted to gain bedside experience first as a nurse, as opposed to just jumping into a nursing specialty as an advanced practice nurse.
I've heard people who do the Accelerated BSN programs receive mostly loans to cover their expenses. Since SU is a private school, I am hoping hey're actually more generous on the financial aid side than some state schools.
I had a 3.9 in prereqs, completed my NAC, and had a previous B.A. in anthropology with a pretty high GPA. I had completed all the prereqs before I applied. I'm not sure what got me in the door here vs other schools, but I do think they look at the total application and what you have to say about your reasons for entering the field instead of solely relying on the numbers.
Edit: And I had about 300 hours of volunteer experience.

I actually was thinking the same thing regarding financial aid. I went to talk with them the other day, and they said that award letters should be mailed out shortly. Apparently they are usually sent out right after acceptance letters, but they had some kind of computer issue and are working to get them out now.
