Seattle U APNI 2014

Is anyone applying to Seattle University's APNI program for summer 2014 start? I know there are a few very useful threads from past years. I'm gearing up and getting a bit anxious!

From my understanding, Dec 1st is the final deadline and from what I know and have heard of SU they are pretty strict about that!

I do agree though that there needs to be some way of allowing those who tried to get their app in by deadline to submit it after the fact seeing as the problem is with the website and out of our control!

If I had known I would have done a paper application but that made me more nervous as it's harder to track, ya know?!

Hmmm.... I just looked at the paper application and it calls it a "priority deadline." (see https://www.seattleu.edu/uploadedFiles/Nursing/Programs/DNP_Program/GradAppNurs_13.pdf)

I was nervous about even sending mine in last week after I found out that they were closed for the break starting on Wednesday, but they said it would be fine if it arrived in the post over the holiday weekend.

I really do hope they will be lenient.... guess we shall see! Did anyone find a faculty email to use?

I am guessing they will still consider post December 1 applications except they will be based on space-availability.

Oh man, I heard this school was disorganized, but this is just getting ridiculous! I had no issues applying, except for one. The online application wouldn't let me put down my letter writers' email addresses. It took their IT dept over a month to fix it so I could finish my application. Glad I was able to apply early in October. Hope you guys get your apps in.

my application was sent in as an email attachment, my recommender had trouble submitting and faxed, my application fee went out as a check... my application is like 6 different moving parts, and I have no idea if it actually came together as a complete submission.

Hello Everyone,

I was an active forum user last year as I was going through the application program. Although I was accepted at two different graduate nursing immersion cohorts last year(both on the East Coast), I ended up declining both. That was a difficult decision! Anyway, I have reapplied at Seattle University for the summer 2014 cohort, as have most of you. I am hoping for a different decision this year. While my cumulative gpa is 3.98 and my prerequisite gpa is 4.0, I only had 4 of them done last year and now they are ALL done :-) That may make a big difference for me this year (hopefully). Anyway, you are welcome to ask me any questions about the application process, timing of events, or other issues since I went through the process last year. As the end of the year is approaching, the tension and stress of interview invites and eventually, admission decisions, will continue to rise. I found great comfort and support in the allnurses family last cycle and I hope for the same discourse this time as well.

Is there a Facebook group yet? I searched for one, but didn't find anything.
