Seattle U - APNI 2012

Published

Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).

I, too, got the letter of rejection. Well, thankfully I'm not too disappointed since SU was my plan B. I know if it was my plan A I would have been crying my eyes out right now so I sympathize with those who didn't get an invitation for interview. =( Hope you guys will find your plan B. Good luck to those who are going to the interview.

It appears the "you have been selected for an interview" Email has been modified with more information for those contacted midweek.

Has anyone been contacted to establish an interview date and time? If so, was this via Email or a phone call?

Cura, I haven't (Midwifery) but I think two people here received an email, one for Psych and one gor AGNP, I think.

Thanks Calinca. It will be great to be given enough advanced notice to effectively rearrange schedules if necessary.

No kidding, I have 4 exams in the next couple of weeks, so I'm just going to have to juggle!

I attend Bellevue College. Where are you enrolled?

I'm taking classes at the UW and South Seattle CC! But I attended BCC in 2006 and 2007, really great school!

I tried to get in touch with Janet by phone as well as email to get a better sense of when interviews are going to happen. She forwarded my email to Tammy.

In terms of hands on care, if you're in the Bay Area (like me) there are soooo many amazing clinics and I feel blessed to have worked at Women's Community Clinic as a volunteer the last 1.5 years. I get direct patient contact doing basic intake, blood pressure, weight, sexual/medical history, urinalysis and other lab stuff... it's great. I wish there were more clinics out there like WCC. Berkeley Free Clinic is also good, very rigorous training process however.

I have a few friends who heard "no" this year from schools - stay strong. They are dynamite women and passionate about health care and the work they see themselves doing. My physio teacher says first round of applications is usually rejection letters, second will rock!!! Also, I've heard NP school is harder to get into than MEDICAL SCHOOL(!!!) right now, so you are all kick ass candidates who are going to make it, I promise. You are the future of healthcare!!!

Mz_Marit, will you be traveling to seattle for your interview?

i am - i'm coming from berkeley. my parents live in seattle so it will be *so* nice to see them... missing them lots. are you traveling home??

Awesome! I'm coming from Chicago and the longer we wait for dates the steeper flights become :(

Has everyone been contacted about when the interview is going to be? I haven't heard anything other than the email! Do we need to call them?
