Seattle U - APNI 2012

Published

Anyone already applying at Seattle U? Which track? I haven't finished my pre-req's, so I am probably not too competitive this year, but I am going to apply anyway. I am applying for the nurse-midwife track and my background is Microbiology (UW).

Calinca- Thank you! I was able to get registered at SSCC to take Math 102. I hope we all start hearing back soon!

Fabulous! I'm taking it next quarter there!

I think we might start getting emails and mails next week, at least that's when they started receiving emails and mails last year.

Just got an email update letting me know that they are going to be deciding interviews early Feb...so I guess that means I can not freak out until Feb. 1st :)

I received it too! Exciting!

Ok, I think I am slightly freaking out now. LOL

It's so close I can taste it! To me, it almost feels like playing the lottery: you know the odds are not in your favor but you get nervous anyway! SO nervous!

According to last year's thread, they were also told that the emails were going to be send first week of february, but in reality they received emails a week earlier. If it goes exactly like last year, we should be starting to see movement as early as ... this coming monday!

I'm in math 102 at SSCC too! Are you in the evening TTH class? I havent heard anything yet but am excited and nervous to hear the interview notifications are coming soon.

I am taking the online version of the course, where you just take the tests at campus. I am getting so anxious to hear about interviews...

So no one get interview invitation yet? I got my acceptance into PLU ELMSN program already and I have to accept by February 25th. SU don't even even start interviewing until February 20th! Anyone else applied to PLU program?

I have not heard yet about interviews, I am guessing they should send things this week to people but they could be behind because of the weather -who knows.

I am curious about PLU. I never applied to that program because of this statement on their website :

"Enrollment in any other MSN concentration (for example, Family Nurse Practitioner) or any other focus area (for example, Clinical Nurse Leader) is neither implied nor guaranteed at the time of admission. When space allows, Entry-Level MSN students may to apply to be considered for selection into other clinical concentrations or focus areas. Students who do not apply for, or are not selected for, participation in an alternative focus area or concentration remain in the COM-Advanced Generalist MSN program. Students admitted to other concentrations or focus areas incur additional tuition and may lengthen their program of study."

Just wondering if you are not bothered by this sort of structure -not guaranteed your specialty of choice and also the mention of lengthing the program would make me nervous as I have heard some schools will do that to increase the tuition they get from each student.

I have a feeling it's going to start this week! I'm so nervous I'm laughing out loud just writing this :lol2:

Luluj, sounds like medical school structure to me and I agree that this would bother me, a lot! Not so much because of the tuition (I really don't believe schools deliberately do this to get more money, just doesn't make sense) but because you're not guaranteed your specialty.

Who else is checking that website and email a million times a day?

I am checking non-stop. I guess I need to relax knowing it could be another week until we hear anything..who knows.

I am getting nervous and heavily researching my "plan B" options.

Hi Everyone!

I'm also completely on the edge of my seat over this. Obsessively checking my email, the website and junk mail box to be sure something didn't slip by...Very anxious to find out if I made it to the next round and like you luluj...working on the plan B, just in case. Sure hope I don't need it. :) Fingers and toes crossed!
