Seattle Children's RN Residency August 2025

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone!

I noticed there haven't been any recent posts about the August 2025 cohort for Seattle Children's RN Residency, so I figured I'd start a thread for anyone applying!

Feel free to share updates on your application status, interviews, offers, or tips for the process. Whether you're just submitting or already got an interview invite, it'd be great to support each other through this cycle.

Wishing the best to everyone applying!

Applied today at like 2 pm and got a thanks for applying we decided to go with other applicants at 8pm.. I have never gotten a response that quick LOL. I feel like they didn't even look at it 🙃did they just not like something on my application or has this happened to anyone else?

I'm sorry 😞. I felt the same when I was applying to other places, and I want you to know—it's not a reflection of you as an applicant. If you're feeling unsure about your resume or what's on your application, it can really help to have a few people look it over and give feedback. I also know from previous threads, their application fills up really fast as soon as it opens in the morning. Which unit did you apply to?

I did not even get a chance to apply... it says the job you are applying for has been filled. I have never seen a new grad application like this. Is this typical for Seattle Children's?

I applied yesterday and got an email to set up a phone screening. Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask during this? Wishing you all best of luck!

I applied to CICU as my first choice and PICU as my second. I haven't got an email to set up a phone screen yet, so fingers crossed!

I saw in previous threads that they close it early if there's already a lot of applicants. But I've never heard of it closing the day after it opens.

I was offered a position as an internal candidate, and from what I understand they didn't have many spots open for this cohort, so that's probably part of the reason it closed early.

Congratulations on your offer!! For which unit?

I applied Wednesday as soon as the application opened for #1 PICU and #2 CICU but I haven't heard anything yet! Hopefully, no news is good news for now. When you got the email to schedule the phone screening did they specify which department it would be for? I know you said NICU was your #1.

I looked on Glassdoor for previous interview questions they ask and there's a lot of good ones so I'd definitely suggest checking it out!

As for those who are down about already getting rejection or not even being able to submit an application, don't feel bad about yourself! I spoke with a number of nurse residency recruiters around the Seattle area and it sounds like they're all experiencing a retention rate they weren't expecting for this Summer so there's very minimal positions open for new grads. Just keep applying and showcasing how capable you are!

I hope you do soon! They didn't specify for which department but I will post on here how the phone screening goes once I do it!
