Seattle Children's RN Residency August 2025

Updated:   Published

Hey everyone!

I noticed there haven't been any recent posts about the August 2025 cohort for Seattle Children's RN Residency, so I figured I'd start a thread for anyone applying!

Feel free to share updates on your application status, interviews, offers, or tips for the process. Whether you're just submitting or already got an interview invite, it'd be great to support each other through this cycle.

Wishing the best to everyone applying!

I was offered a position as an internal candidate, and from what I understand they didn't have many spots open for this cohort, so that's probably part of the reason it closed early.

Congratulations!! Could you share what the interview process was like?

Hi everyone!! I applied early Wednesday before 10AM. I received an email to schedule my phone screen on Thursday! I applied to CICU and NICU.

I applied yesterday and got an email to set up a phone screening. Does anyone know what kind of questions they ask during this? Wishing you all best of luck!

Congrats!! I saw from a previous seattle allnurses forum: "My best advice for the screening interview is be prepared to really talk about why you want to work there/why their mission & values align with what you want. You'll be asked a couple of pretty basic behavioral style questions & I think I answered them with patient examples from clinical rotations. It really didn't feel like an interview, but more so a conversation. None of the questions were tricky or very lengthy." Best of luck to you! If you're up for sharing how your phone interview goes we would greatly appreciate!(:

Awesome! That makes me feel better LOL. I applied for NICU as my number 1 and PICU as my number 2. My phone screen is on Monday- what about yours? And of course 🙂 Their CICU is amazing. I really hope you get it. I have so much respect for CICU nurses- definitely one of the most intense specialties in my opinion. Are you from Seattle?

That's awesome!! NICU sounds amazing too! Mine is on Wednesday morning 😞 I was hoping to schedule earlier but I have work/clinical early in the week. Good luck at yours I hope it goes great!(: I am from SoCal, what about you? It's great to hear more good things about their CICU!

I wonder how soon after the phone screening they will offer interviews? I saw some say they heard a few days after, and some say they were able to schedule at the end of their phone screening.

I'll let you know how mine goes so you are more prepared on Wednesday! So it might actually be a good thing 🙂 I'm from Texas and very excited to move LOL! What made you want to go to Seattle?

Hi Everyone I just had my phone screening - it went super well. She was really sweet an easy to talk to. They just asked some basic questions like why do you want to work here and why this specialty, also about a difficult experience you had! Afterwards I got set up with an interview date! Wishing all of you the very best!! Good luck guys I hope we make it to orientation and I see you all there 🙂

Unfortunately, I didn't get to do a phone screen. But I wish everyone the best! Let us know how it goes!!

Congratulations!! I'm glad it went well 🙂 did they specify during the phone screen which department they're looking to hire you for yet? Or is it still either one? And please let us know how the interview goes! Hoping for the best!!

My boyfriend has family in the pacific northwest, so we visit often and I love it! What about you? Good luck at your phone screening today!! I hope it went great!

At the end, did they offer interviews at both the units you were interested in or just one? How far out did they schedule it (I'm guessing maybe they are doing interviews in May?) Thank you so much for the update, that's amazing!  Congratulations!!(: I hope we all make it to orientation too, yay!

I think just for NICU but they weren't specific enough for me to say for sure! Yes my interview is in May! 🤞- let us know how the phone screening goes for you! @funkymonkey
