Seattle Central Community College Fall 2014

Published

I am really hoping that a current or former student can shed some light on SCCC nursing program.

Some specific things I am hoping to find out

Instructor reviews.. did you feel that the majority of the instructors taught fairly well and were supportive of the students.

Environment- Did you feel it was a good environment and you had the tools and resources you needed to get things done in lab and skills check offs

Administration- there seems to be a general consensus that SCCC has a horrible reputation in their normal college administration and administrative functions such as transcripts, records, cashier, losing important items and financial aid. Does this carryover into the program or do they seem to be organized and efficient?

Material: Did you find that the material prepared you well for graduation and NCLEX?

Student Nurses Organization: Is there one? Is there any kind of community health or outreach that the students participate in?

Thank you so much if anyone can answer some or all of these. I am trying to decide if I apply here for Fall or go somewhere else.

The information session was helpful, but there are still some unanswered questions and I would love to get an actual student or graduates perception of these things.

Hey everyone, is anyone else applying to SCCC for this Fall? I just submitted my application today.

I applied today, as well!! I'm also waiting to hear back from Bellevue College. :)

Hi cupkate255, finally good to hear someone else is applying! After you submitted your app online, did you get the confirmation email?

I haven't received or heard anything other than that simple email. I know they accept apps until the 30th of this month, which I'm assuming means that we won't be hearing anything until probably the first week of May??

This is my first time applying to Seattle Central, so I have no idea how their admissions/selection process works. Best of luck!!

Specializes in Emergency Medicine.

I also applied to this program, good luck to all of us! Where else have people applied/plan to apply. I applied to Bellevue College and plan on applying to Lake Washington IT as well as Tacoma CC (providing that they actually have a program/post their application soon!)

I emailed Cebrina and she said emails will be sent out on may 9th!

Did everyone complete all the prereqs?? This is my first time applying to SC, and I don't know anything about their admissions process. I mean I heard that they were first come first serve, but I guess I still I had my reservations about what that means. Any help would be appreciated!

Yep, I got the confirmation email. I applied at 12:02pm...so I'm thinking I'm good to go (first come, first served). I've talked to Cebrina loads of times since applying...there was a mix up with my ss# on the DOH's end, so I was making sure she knew that my license was "active" vs "pending." Other than that, I have all my pre reqs (and then some ugh).

I also applied to Bellevue (Feb 7th), and if for some reason SCC doesn't pan out, I will apply to Highline, as well since their app deadline isn't until June. That TEAS really kicked my butt....so I definitely will need to brush up on my Sciences before starting ANY nursing programs. haha. I've been outta the game for too long :)

I got my letter (email) of acceptance to SCC today!! Anyone else get theirs??

@cupkate255 I have not received an email at all from them! I submitted my application at 12:02:39..do you know your millisecond(?), i.e. your ":39"?

I don't :( However...definitely email Cebrina about not getting an email. I've already emailed her twice since getting acceptance email and she responded pretty quickly. Were all your pre reqs met? And you sent her your CNA license #? [email protected]

Congratulations cupkate255!!

I got accepted for Fall as well! I'm now just waiting for a follow up email with the information about orientation/immunizations/etc.

Are you doing anything else in particular to prepare now that you got in, or are you just waiting for the follow up email as well?

I also got accepted for fall! I am excited and terrified at the same time hehe Have been looking for feedback from past graduates too. They're hard to find.. I'm taking Medical Terminology to prepare. It's available through Central's correspondence classes. You can go at your own pace which is nice.
