Does any one know a college in Illinois that excepts LPN credit from Ambria college of nursing in Hoffman Estates, IL for there RN program?

I found some but they don't accept ambria's credit and I dont want to start from scratch again its so disappointing so please help me find a college?

Yes i do have my prerequirement from community college, and i am glad i had done that at community college before going to this private school ... do u know any direct LPN- BSN bridge though.

If you have your pre-reqs, and they are not expired or at least have an Associates degree, then you should be able to transfer your pre-reqs to any college or university nursing program.

I'm not in your area, so you may have to do some leg work and find a bridge program or traditional program; however, I went through an accelerated BSN program for two years because I still had to complete the requirements for a new scope and practice; I had the option to opt out of Fundamentals and Health Assessment, but I took the classes anyway and at least for Fundamental s it was an easy A and Health Assessment was a necessity because my assessment skills expanded by taking that class.

It may feel as though you may be "starting from scratch", but in reality, you LPN education is just a foundation; your education will be a "bridging the gap" into a new role and expanded responsibilities, it would behoove you to enter the program and fully learn the differences in order for one to be a successfully prepared novice RN.

Best wishes.

Thank you so much ladyfree28.

I attended a private nonprofit LVN program at a trade school that issued credit in clock hours instead of academic credit hours.

While the credits did not transfer, I still received one year of advanced placement for having LVN licensure and was admitted to an LPN-to-ASN bridge program.
