SDSU Fall 2012 admission hopefuls

Published

Good luck everybody! I really hope that you all get in. This is a really stressful time in our academic careers, so let's use this thread to comfort each other and to answer each others questions about the admissions process. And at one point or another, celebrate our admission in the SON. Thank you very much!

Hey I called them awhile ago and they said to just print out your TEAS scores only

Oh ok good. I sent in my packet already :) Thank you.

I also heard that they don't accept electronic results of the TEAS exam

Are you applying as a transfer student?

Hey everyone!

What points does everyone have? I couldn't find any info on the SON website about stats of previously accepted students, does anyone know the average points of students in semesters past?? I think I have 82 points-- no idea how competitive that is. Does being a transfer student put me at a disadvantage??

I have 77 points.

Pre-req GPA: 4.0 (30)

Overall GPA: 4.0 (30)

TEAS exam : 88.7% (12)

Volunteer: 100+ hours (5)

I'm a transfer student too. Do you know if we submit official transcripts to the University Admissions Office when they request it after reviewing our supplemental application?

I Think the university will request transcripts from us after making admissions decisions... that's what I understand anyway. That supplemental application was annoying and frustrating...

It was. I didn't want to select a course that I think "sounded the same" as the one I took, and then they think "What was this person thinking? This isn't the same course, REJECTION!" I don't see why they couldn't just request our transcripts without us submitting unofficial verified information online and making the decision based on that ..

I was confused by the supplemental application too. In the preparation for major section, it told us to check one of the following stat courses, but I haven't taken any of them and the nursing counselor said stats wasn't required. So I just left that blank.

That's odd. I know Bio isn't one of the Pre reqs and it was on the supplemental application. I didn't check it cause I've never taken it. Hopefully that doesn't affect my admissions.

ST1004- I called the nursing office about that Bio class, because I was confused too. The guy said tons of people were calling confused, and he didn't know why that was on the supplemental. Basically he told me not to check it because I didn't take it, and it's not a prerequisite. So it sounds like you did exactly the right thing!

As for the general ed section, I was so annoyed. There would be like "The american political system" and "American politics and government." Umm... I took American politics... kind of sounds like both of those... yet not exactly... what do I check??!? Haha. It was like that on every class. Horrible. Don't they have to evaluate those equivalencies anyway? Why do they make us GUESS?!

Exactly! They are making us guess on classes when they should be the ones evaluating our transcripts! It was pretty annoying. It would be terrifying if we got rejected from the university because we marked a class that sounded like another but it actually wasn't! I wish every school was like SFSU, where the school of nursing and the university share the transcripts. It's easier to keep track of what you've sent and what you owe.
