Did anybody apply to other schools for Fall 2012? I got accepted to SJSU's nursing program and I actually ITE for the school and the program already but my first choice is SDSU so IF i get in, I'll probably turn down SJSU and go down to SoCal, which is where I want to be (I live in SJ)! I also got waitlisted for Sac's nursing program but i didn't want to take the risk even though I really want to move away from home for a while. I'm praying that SDSU accepts me though because like all of you said, work experience is really important to SDSU and unfortunately, I don't have any. I wanted to ask though, if you guys get accepted Spring 2013, would you be taking classes for Fall 2012? I was wondering if there are certain GE's we can take before actually entering the program. I was also thinking of maybe taking a CNA course and work as an assistant for the time being while taking some courses at SDSU? I'm just brainstorming so if you guys have suggestions, let me know! Here are my stats for those who are interested. (I know I was whenever I read through people's posts): prereq: 3.91 gpa, overall: 3.85 gpa, TEAS: 83%, volunteer experience. so around 72 if I calculated everything right. Good luck to everyone who is applying for spring 2013 though! I also heard that it's easier to get in for spring so I have higher hopes for all of us!

Hey! So does anybody know what the deal is with enrollment for Fall 2012? The deadline to SIR is today and I'm a bit worried since I haven't received any notifications from the university yet.

Hey tiger07, I'm in the same boat actually. Im pretty sure our admission to the university it contingent to our SON status and it's confusing because aren't we suppose to SIR to SDSU by May 1st? If so, then how can we SIR if we don't even know our status to the university yet? The deadline is coming up so I'm kind of worried. Congrats to those who got in for Fall 2012! :]] We should definitely start a new forum for Spring 2013 applicants. :]

Nvm, I got a hold of the nursing office and they said we'll get notified in July.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anybody knows when SDSU will send out acceptance letters to those who applied for Spring 2013? Will it be by May 1st or according to the Spring 2012 forum, they got notified by late July.

I also heard that they don't accept electronic results of the TEAS exam

Hi Coriander! Thank you so much for going out of your way to figure out my problem, I really appreciate it. It's really a shame now that I know for sure that I won't be able to apply for fall because of just one class. I do really want to attend SDSU starting fall because I don't want my first year's experience to be different from everyone else at the school. I will consider applying for Spring though and see how that goes. Aside from that, how do you like the school, area and the people at SDSU? Also, if i start the program in the spring, how would it be different compared to starting in the fall? It'll still be a three year program right? Thank you so much again! -Silvia Lu

So I'm trying to apply for San Diego State's nursing program and I'll be done with all my pre-reqs by the end of this fall semester EXCEPT 1. I'm going by the quarter system so I wont have my final grade for my general psych class until the end of march but they require you to send in your transcript by january 31st. I did call them but they said that I won't be qualified for fall but will be for Spring. The thing is, one of my friend applied last year and he had 2-3 in progress classes while applying and they called him around march 2011 not necessarily because his in-progress classes needed to be done but because he got a C in an A/ P class and needed to be changed to a B. He did also need to finish his 2-3 in progress classes before the end of spring semester to be considered for Fall 2011. I'm a bit confused on that case and was wondering whether or not I should just apply for Spring(don't really want to because I prefer starting Fall) or take my chances and apply for Fall since it's my first choice. Aside from that, if i do decide to not go to SDSU at all then what other CSU campus would you prefer in terms of nice campus, good environment, etc. As for my stats I have a 4.0 in science as of right now, I'm taking micro, last a/p series and socio and ~3.9 overall gpa. I'm taking my teas mid november and I'm also applying to SFSU, SJSU, and Long Beach. I am considering Fullerton, Sac State(if they still have the program) and CSULA. thanks!
