Hi everyone, wanted to start a thread for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) new grad nurse jobs that were posted in March/April 2023. Has anyone heard back regarding interviews or next steps? 

Omgg that's good!! How was your interview with MICU?? What were some questions did they ask?? ? I am so nervous and literally shaking right now ahaha

Thank you!! I'm sure you'll do great!  The questions weren't as difficult as I thought they would be. They asked questions regarding about my background, where I worked, went to school and my ICU preceptorship experiences with some questions related to that, such as, where I did the preceptorship, a time I had a conflict with a patient, where do I see myself in 2 years...etc. they also asked what was critical care to me and how would I define it given the patient population and the 2:1 or 1:1 ratios that are Involved with working in an ICU setting.

Did anyone get to ask how many people they are interviewing for PCU and how many spots there are? I completely forgot to ask ? I was told that we would find out by the end of next week if we get an offer or not.. I'm so nervous!!

I totally forgot to ask too! But a friend of mine asked when should we hear back from MICU/CCU & they told him mid-July ?

Thank you for this! I thought I was going to interview for MICU but went to wrong table and interviewed with CCU instead... I also did TICU/SICU but OMG did not feel good about it ? They barely ask me questions and I was expecting a lot of questions too... did anyone interview with TICU/SICU too??? 
 

Also I was told we will know in 2 weeks I hope you guys get it!

Umm did anyone get a second interview invite?? I just got an email to do a second interview for TICU/SICU so confused ?

That's awesome!! ?? I didn't interview with them, but I would take getting a second interview as a positive sign ?

Hey! I also got an email invite for a second interview with TICU/SICU/IICU. Yesterday I also interviewed with the MICU and they had me go upstairs for a panel interview after interviewing with the three people at the table first. They were also super welcoming but it was still a little nerve wracking. I wonder if all departments do two rounds of interviews? I'm also a little confused LOL

I got a rejection email today from scvmc ED, kind of relieved since one of the interviewers was not welcoming and kept cutting me off when I was talking. Still disappointing since I have to continue my employment search.

O no :((( did you only interview with ED? Also good sam job fair is on 6/12! You can register online if you want to but I don't think that matters. IDK if they'll be interviewing for ED but I know last cohort they did...

Thank you for your response! I also interviewed with PCU and they said they'll let us know by end of next week. I RSVP to Good Sam job fair via email, is that what you're talking about? I'm not dead set on ED, did my preceptorship in peds med- surg but there aren't many peds options out there right now. It's been 4 months since I've been licensed and I'm getting worried about finding an inpatient job here in the Bay Area ?

Yess I'm planning to go too just incase I don't get anything ? omgg I know what you mean I hope you get PCU/ atleast good sam is a little bit easier to get into.. If you're really desperate I know CHONC is hiring but they don't pay that much... but it's still something while you're looking at other places!! 
 

Also an update for PCU, my friend just got an email for second interview so I'm guessing all unit will do second interviews now..?
