SCVMC Summer/Fall 2023

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

Hi everyone, wanted to start a thread for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) new grad nurse jobs that were posted in March/April 2023. Has anyone heard back regarding interviews or next steps?

I just got mine for all ICUs.. anyone else got ICU?

No, but did maybe because I accepted an Interview with PCU. Did you as well?

Based on the invitation email I think you can get multiple invitations for the interviews but I don't know I only got ICUs ? Did you want to do ICU?

Yea I only applied to the ICU's, but somehow got an email for PCU. I'm happy with whatever at this point, but my passion is definitely ICU since that's where I did my preceptorship ? It's definitely rough getting into a hospital in the Bay Area LOL

Can I ask if you guys are new grads or if any of you have prior experience? Just curious, thank you!!

I'm a new grad with no previous experience providing direct medical care to people outside of nursing school!

Specializes in SNF.

I have been working at a SNF for the last year, as well as in the outpatient setting administering vaccines.

Specializes in SNF.

Did anyone get an interview with an ADN? Just wondering if that somehow plays into the whole ranking/score situation. I have an ADN and I am in a BSN program at the moment

I am considered a new grad as I haven't worked as an RN, although I graduated on December 2021. Before and during nursing school I worked as a CNA/Activity assistant in a SNF (6 years) & as a COVID screener at Kaiser (1 year).

Goodluck on the interview tomorrow guys!! Lmk how it is ? Also did you guys prepare at all??

Goodluck to you & everyone too! I've been practicing interview questions all day. Still pretty nervous tho. ? But there is only so much you can prepare.

Just completed my interviews with PCU, MICU & CCU. I was the first group (8am start). PCU made it pretty easygoing and not as stressful as a straight panel interview with various managers. Goodluck to everyone on their Interviews today!
