I was curious if new grad nurses need to have a license in hand to apply? I was receiving conflicting info from some that you don't need to have a license to apply and it can be "in progress." But when I went on the website, it stated otherwise. TIA!
The job postings I applied for in March said you need an active CA RN license or an interim permit. The job app asks whether you have either and I'm pretty sure if you select "no", you can still submit it. Don't quote me on that though LOL.
Maybe apply and see what happens? You may be at a disadvantage without a license in hand but you never know!

anyone apply to the speciality training program that was just posted today? I just did but wasn't sure what the difference was between that application vs the Clinical Nurse 1 - Critical Care..? They both stayed for being nurses that have < 6 months of experience
I applied to both hahaha just because the unclassified specialty have NICU/PICU and other units that I'm interested in. I got my ranking for the ICUs but I'm more interested in pediatric so hopefully it's okay to apply to both.

So far, I've only heard back after applying to the "Clinical Nurse I - Critical Care" and that was on 5/04 giving me my ranking. Lets hope we hear more in the next coming days after the application closes for the Unclassified specialty training program.

Hi everyone, wanted to start a thread for the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) new grad nurse jobs that were posted in March/April 2023. Has anyone heard back regarding interviews or next steps?
