Has anyone applied to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Clinical Nurse I role? I received an email with ranking and percentage. However, I don't know what any of that means and I cannot find anything online.

I also got my ranking and percentage for the PCU position. Anyone else applied?

Did you ever find out? I recently applied and was offered an interview but have not idea what to expect. Also, I applied for Clinical RN I , but they sent me back an acceptance for Clinical RN I "Extra Help" .
I'm wondering how this differs from per diem or regular positions.
@Heaven27 I think rankings only matter to receive the interview. what was your ranking and how soon did you receive the invite to interview afterwards? I'm on the 70th percentile with a ranking of 100...
I was able to get all my questions answered. After careful consideration, I will be declining my interview with SCVMC.
I was ranked at the 87% percentile. 28 (Rank)/100.
I received an invite about 1month later I think.
I applied to their Clinical RN I - Progressive Care Unit : when I got the invite the position said " Extra Help Clinical RN " . After speaking with the managers, I learned that this role has 3 steps.
1st 12 weeks includes didatic/training
2nd 12 weeks work fulltime ( independently) to incorporate what all you learned
3rd: Your job classification is downgraded to the lowest job classification there is after Per Diem. Only requirement is to work 4 shifts a month which is not official. You must confirm that you can actually come in to work the same day. So No benefits, no real pay, and getting upgraded to a benefited employee ( staff nurse II) can be a bit tricky it seems since you have to apply to a whole entire new position to be eligible.
It is very possible that some people don't experience these issues of not getting paid enough or taking a long time to get a staff II position
I'm actually already a Staff Nurse II at Kaiser Permentente. I just completed their training program. I applied to SCVMC because of training in their PCU, but the program sounds awful after training. At least the extra help job.
I was somewhat happy about extra help since I already have a job, but their fulltime schedule conflicts with my 12 hour night position. Wish they were more flexible considering its possible that you are not garunteed hours after training. Also I don't think you get full benefits since you are extra help.
So basically all that @Heaven27 except I’m not sure what “no real pay” means. You will be paid. There’s a coded pay schedule on the county you can look at to see what your pay will be.
this position is best for new grads with little to no experience in acute settings. And it depends on the department whether getting a coded position is tricky or not. For example my department it supposed to have MANY extra shifts available so even after my 13 week orientation I am almost guaranteed full time hours. And it’s easier to get a coded position when you have passed their orientation program.
ask me any questions Im currently in their extra help new grad orientation

I meant that a con to the "Extra Help" position would be that you are not guaranteed a certain monthly income ( it could be more than usual or less than usual) because it is based on extra shifts available for the unit as a opposed to having a confirmed schedule where you know exactly what your monthly income is going to be. I do have a question? Is there a difference between "Extra-Help Clinical Nurse I" and "Clinical Nurse I"

Also how did you like their training? Was it sufficient for you? Did you feel you had a good classes taught be well trained educators and floor training from decent preceptors?

Got it. So everyone with less than a year clinical experience is considered clinical nurse I … the extra help is just the type of job. There’s reg staff nurse, per Diem, and extra help.

Just started LOL so IDK the answers to your questions but so far it is a VERY structured training and the educators seem very knowledgeable and there is a whole team of them.
Okay. Great. So happy for you. I also got an interview and the title was " Clinical Nurse I" but extra help wasn't the on the headline. So this is so confusing. I hope you love it. I think training is the main thing.
The thing about Kaiser is they don't really have PCU units. They mixed their medical surgical and TCU units so everything is called "Med-Tele".
so during the interview, will all hiring managers from scvmc, oconnor, and louise regional pcu be present? or is the interview with only one unit?

Each facility seems to have a different hiring process. I was invited to two one as "Extra-Help Clinical Nurse I @ SCVMC" and "Clinical Nurse I @ Oconnor"
SCVMC is an onsite interview while O'connor's is via online interview
Also SCVMC requires 2 references to be filled out and emailed to them from preference of a manager prior to the interview whereas Oconnor did not.
It is safe to assume that only hiring managers or manager aids will be present for each separate facility
