I am starting clinicals in the Fall and have been looking at scrubs to see what I like. I am a plus size women and have no problem in the pants...I take an XL but then have to have them hemmed because they are so long. As far as the top goes...this is where the problem comes in. My school uses Landau and Urbane scrubs...and I find that I take a 3X because of the chest...the problem is then that there is a ton of material in the stomach area that it hangs all weird and sticks out and almost makes me look preggers. I guess I can just have it taken in in the stomach area though. Does anyone else have this problem? What are your suggestions? What are good brands for us bigger gals for after clinicals?
Thanks!

As a woman with curves, I understand your dilemma. And that is why I wear Baby Phat scrubs! Forget what you know, if anything, about the brand Baby Phat. The scrubs come in all kinds of colors, cuts and designs. I think everyone can find something flattering about these scrubs. Also, coworkers and patients always compliment me when I wear them.
I swear that I'm not endorsed by Baby Phat. But maybe they'll see this post and send me some free merchandise? Hehe.

Try looking for a top that has an empire waist (seaming right under the bust). It emphasizes the smallest part of your waist, but doesn't have tons of extra material to billow out. Tops that tie in the back are good too.

Cherokee Flexibles has a new mock-crossover top with an empire waist and 2 patch pockets. I haven't tried it yet, but I do have one of the older style shirts and it was really comfortable (there are stretch panels on the sides). The empire waist and darker panels on the sides are slimming, and if you get the right size there's no "billowing" because of the stretch panels.
