Screwing with insurance again

My husband and I both work in hospitals(different ones).

Now insurance premiums are going up again and we will HAVE to change physicians again.

I am sooo tired of this! I pay more and then have to get records transferred at my own expense. Not to mention the hassle of getting to start all over again.

I have every intention of writing to the governor and asking him how many times he has had to change pediatricians in the last few years so he wouldn't have to pay another $100 in insurance premiums a month. Not that I expect a REAL answer, but I am peeved!

charging for a records transfer?

never heard of that one (here in AZ)

Yes,

Had to pay a fee of ten dollars to get the fully copied records for one child (I have 3). Not for profit my behind!

Charging to transfer records is the norm here-maybe you can get your doc to waive the charge since this is not an entirely voluntary move on your part-you are being forced into it...

I know exactly what you mean.

Our insurance carrier through my husband's work has changed every year for the past 4 years.

As if getting an apppointment with an OB/GYN wasn't hard enough you have to find a different one every year.

My husband works with a woman who was having serious female issues, it sounds like it may have been endometriosis. I felt so bad for her, they changed the doctor's around on the insurance again and no one would take her because she was a brand new patient, she had to wait 3-4 months for the first available appt. That's the average up in this area. I think she just eventually just went to the ER, which still didn't help her situation much.

I guess it's still better than having no insurance which it sounds like the situation of so many Americans today.
