This may sound like a rediculous question but.....
A patient whos PT/INR had been 79. something,, and INR value was 8.9, given 10 mg vit K SQ that evening. Next days values (24 hours) were 26. and 2.7,, is this even possible with only 10 mg vit K?
I am suspecting there was something amiss in the lab.
Another patient WBC were 39, with a leukocyte #of 68. No previous history of CLL. No second set of labs were ordered, they just called in a onc consult and then discharged her the next evening. I am really questioning if there was something terribly wrong in the lab that evening. Am i off the mark here or is this totally strange?

I assume the lab rechecked it. If they did not I would have asked for it to be retested before I did that K but that is how I was taught. Alot of times it was incorrect.
