Scottish Referendum & registration/NHS

Well, it looks like the Scottish referendum for independence is tightening up for the "yes" side. Does anyone know what they plan to do with the nursing registrants? I don't really know the political moods of the NMC: Do you guys think that those who were registered under the NMC will retain registration for Scotland if this passes?

I'm just an American with a NMC registration but my DH (English) loves Scotland and we have a lot of friends there; we could conceivably move there someday (currently live in the states). Of course, there would probably be more restrictions on moving there if neither of us are Scottish...

Well, my DH is relieved (although he's stayed out of the discussion with his Scottish friends for the most part because he felt hesitant due to the terrible history between the two countries to voice a strong opinion), but I feel a bit sad for Scotland. I'm hoping if Westminster keeps their promises about staying in the Union, maybe the yes side can see that all their hard work hasn't been for nothing. I know, small consolation prize, but I don't think Cameron would have offered it had there never been a referendum.

I know that London/Westminster has been seen as dominating and out of touch by the Scots, and if they gain home rule from this, hooray for them. But it's humorous to me how it seems to be forgotten that the only reason the crowns of England and Scotland are united is because a Scottish king took over the throne when the English had no other heir. ;)

Slightly more to it than that.

Yes the crowns were united in 1603 but the union of parliaments was not until 1707.
