beachbutterflyi averaged close to 68% on several tests and did just fine with NCLEX. i remember reading that you should be in the 70's but I passed on my first attempt. i think you will be fine. just take your time and read the question CAREFULLY!
Did you use the exam cram? How similar was the NCLEX format in comparision with the CD?
Exam Cram is intended to mimic NCLEX almost perfectly because of the CAT software. Since you may know by now that the actual NCLEX is looking for a 51% or better in the higher-level questions, then use that information to gauge how well you're doing on the Exam Cram.
The way I used it was to make sure that I remained in the Good/Above Average/Excellent range on the adaptive drills and simulated tests...I can't remember exactly what all the ranges were, but you know, the ones that were to the right of the yellow mark..I think that was the Average mark...who knows! :chuckle Basically, staying above the average mark entails that you are in the 90% or above mark for pasing and NCLEX-styled test. Trust me on this; I called the company and I finally figured out how to use the CD just days before my own exam!
If you look at it that way, you'll notice that your scores will be in the higher range which means above 51%. That shows that you are getting more higher-level questions correct than your average recall questions.
So basically, your 68% is just fine! I know it sounds weird to say that a 68% is amazing, but remember, NCLEX is only testing our ENTRY-LEVEL skills, not advanced practice skills!
Good luck studying and hopefully I didn't confuse anyone even more so!
