Sciences with online labs

Hello,

Someone told me that the online A&P II class I'm taking right now for my Associates in Nursing will not be accepted when I go to my BSN and I will have to take it again.

Has anyone heard this is true? I'm really upset if it is that nobody told me in advising.

Well many schools do not accept online labs... If the community college your are attending currently does not code the lab as an online course then you should be OK.

It's all coded as one course. But it doesn't say A&P online or anything. Where would I look for the online "code"

I have seen some places that have some notation or completely different course numbers for online sections.

Such as if A&P is BIO 2015 and the lab is BIO 2016, they may print it on the transcript as BIO 2015(o) and BIO 2016(o) or list the same A&P as BIO 2025 and 2026 for the online sections.

Same class code, the only difference is section number. Those are listed ending with an H for hybrid and a W for web.

But that isn't listed on my transcript so maybe I'm safe?

Thank the powers that be! My degree is expensive enough without an extra class!

Yes, this is true. I'm in California and they will actually put this on the admissions criteria that the lab must be taken in-person; no online labs accepted.

Now, there are hybrid courses offered at universities, which mean the lecture portion can be given online, but you have to come in and do the lab in person.

Most universities know which other colleges/universities offer these all online courses with no in-person labs. They are very familiar with the names, so you probably won't be able to skirt around the issue.

If I were you, I'd sign up at the nearest community college and do them there and make sure the lab portion is in-person.
