Science Classes

What do you think about taking A&P along with a Chemistry class, do you think its too much to take together?

I took both this last semester and you can definetly do it with good grades.

My only 2 suggestions would be:

A) Dont take other random classes with them like Psychology... just focus on these two

B) Make sure to get your class schedule good... I took Anatomy and had lab on tuesday night until 10pm and the only Chemistry class was on wednsday at 7am and it killed me trying to study for Chemistry tests.

Hi Sirena922,

It can be done. It's not a tall order. I have taken both A&P and Chemistry at the same time. I was also working full time and a mother to two teenaged girls. So as long as you keep your focus, you'll do just fine. I actually did very well on both the subjects.

Good Luck!!!

I took it in fall of 06 together, I hafe 3 young kids and my husband travels all week, I was able to maintain A's. It's a lot of work but depends on your situation if you work, family etc. I studied all day while my kids were in school, I went in two hours early to my classes and went right to the library. I feel it got me ready for nursing school managing my study time etc..

I just finished A&P I and Chemistry and got an A+ in both. I would suggest not taking any other classes and try to schedule them on different days as well. I found this to be helpful in a couple of ways: #1) I could stay after class to work on labs or work with the models as long as I needed to. Several other students also wanted to stay after class but had to rush off to another class. They then had to go in on the weekend to do this work. I spent my weekends going over that week's material or studying for exams coming up the next week. #2) Exams were given on different days. This was VERY helpful! Even if an exam is given in each class back to back, I always had one more day to study for the second one.

I spent about 3-5 hours a day studying, and sometimes even longer on the weekends and right before exams. I reduced my work hours as well, just to make sure that these two classes were my priority. I'm also a wife and mother and had to keep those priorities in perspective as well.

It can be done. It's really not that bad if you go into it prepared. ;)

I took Anatomy, Physiology (two separate classes) along with Microbiology - so 15 credits in all and did well. I don't also have a job, but I do have three small kids.
