University School of Nursing offers on-campus and online, fast-paced nursing programs designed to get you into the real world of being a Registered Nurse.

Undergraduate

Practical Nursing (LPN) - 12 months

If you want to start being a nurse, but do not have time to complete a two to four year degree, you can prepare to become a Licensed Practice Nurse (LPN). These nurses usually work in small clinics, Long-Term Care facilities, and hospitals.  You will receive valuable experience from Rasmussen's experienced nurse faculty in small class sizes.

Upon satisfactory completion of the Practical Nursing program requirements, students are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for practical nurses. Upon passing the NCLEX-PN Exam, the PN candidate is eligible for licensure, provided the candidate has satisfied all Minnesota Board of Nursing requirements. Within the course work, this exam is offered so you can start work right away.

There are no waiting lists and no prerequisite courses to enter the program. Students can finish the program and be licensed as LPNs in less than 12 months.

The Professional Nursing Mobility Bridge Entrance Option is available if you are interested in becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in the future. This can allow for even more job opportunities and higher salaries.

LPN to Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN/ADN)

Our Professional Nursing Associate's degree Mobility Bridge Entrance Option can bring the current LPN to RN status in 18-24 months. Upon satisfactory completion of the nursing program requirements, students are eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for registered nurses. Upon passing the NCLEX-RN Exam, the RN candidate is eligible for licensure, provided the candidate has satisfied all Minnesota, Illinois, Kansas, Wisconsin, and Florida Board of Nursing requirements.

This program is designed for those who are just starting the journey to become an RN from high school or a career change later in life. There is also an accelerated option for those who choose to go on to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) focuses on:

Two Entrance Options, One Fast BSN

For a faster, more focused path to earning your degree, we offer two pre-licensure BSN entrance options through our CCNE-accredited BSN degree program. These are full-time and immerse you in real-world curriculum.
