Schools for students who dropped out of a nursing program.

Hi everyone, like the title said, I was a nursing student at an institution and I have failed the classes on my first semester due to personal reason. It's been a year now and I want to try for another nursing program because I am really passionate about it, but so far none of the nursing programs in my states and some of the other states want me due to my failure and I believed they said the wait time is 5 years in time. I have decent gpa at 3.0 and an 83 on my TEAS exam. I was wondering if anyone know a nursing school that except students that are drop out of a nursing program. Some of the classes that I have taken are your standard nursing prerequisites Human A&P I & II, Microbiology, Pathophysiology, Biology I & II, Chemistry I & II, and a bachelor in Health Care Administration.

Thank you in advance and let me know if I need to include any additional information.

Specializes in Allergy/ENT, Occ Health, LTC/Skilled.

A 3.0 for nursing school entry might as well be a 2.0 honestly, most people have 3.6 and above.

Hi,

Where I am from you can have an appeal for the classes that you failed. I don't know if that would help you out from whatever situation you may have had in the past. Wishing you luck!!

I agree with what others have said. A 3.0 and failing at another school is going to hurt your chances. Your best bet will be to try and figure out if the school you dropped out of will allow you another chance. There were a number of people in my class who failed first year and were given a second chance, and who are graduating a year later. Also, a little humility if someone is trying to offer you advice might go a long way.

There is no need to be rude when someone asks for advice on this forum! Why attack their grammatical errors, and assume that English is not their first language? Completely ridiculous! If you don't have anything nice or positive to add, please refrain from posting assumptions.

To the original poster:

Don't get discouraged, I know at least for Texas schools you have to wait 5 years after failing a nursing program, and it might be really difficult to get back in. Try to work something out with your school, and most likely you would have to wait the 5 years to reapply. Wishing you the best luck in your endeavors.

No one was being rude and no one attacked anyone. The person who posted that was point out that since their writing skills are lacking, it may cause problems with other applications the OP may fill out or essays they have to write.

Why do people get so bent out of shape on an open, public forum? You have your opinion. So do others.
