schools for my child

U.S.A. Maryland

Is one area of MD better than another as far as school systems. I've heard so many missed reviews from different people. I've been told to stay out of PG county and Baltimore County as far as the schools go by someone. These are the only two counties I know about and have family in. If anyone could give me some info that may help or direct me to a website that could give me some helpful information let me know. Thank you.

Harford county schools aren't bad...they have a pretty good amount of both private and public...

the problem w/ the wealthier areas is that drugs abound...as in harford county...the kids have the money and the access....and the school systems are in complete denial...

but educationally wise - i can vouch for harford county schools

I went to high school in Baltimore City and it is definitely one of the top schools in the state if not the country.

Yeah right. I'd like to know which PUBLIC school you are talking about. I hardly think that a school system with so many kids who can't read beyond a 3rd grade level has the ability to produce a nationally ranked (or even state ranked) school.

City schools are having way too many financial problems to be able to focus their efforts towards a good education.

Can anyone provide information on decent schools in the clinton md area (or surrounding area). I am a r n and will soon be relocating to that area. also some nice hospitals info would also be helpful.

thanks in advance.

I live in PG County and applied years ago at PG and quickly went to another school after stepping foot in there. Terrible. And PG county is bad. It is time to move. I graduated from College of Southern Maryland from there program. They have a really great program that definately prepares the nursing students for the state boards. I passed the boards on my first go around. The instructors are very knowledgable. They have a ninty something percent pass rate of students taking the state boards and they are accredited. I hope this helps. I do not think anything is wrong with the College of Southern Maryland. I got a degree there in 2000 and another one in 2004. Just goes to show you I like that school. The faculty, for the majority, are excellent and always willing to lend a helping hand if needed. They go out of there way for students. I believe their nursing program is one of the best, as well as there biological science program. I think you should consider checking out the College Of Southern Maryland.

Hope this helps some.

Clinton does not have any good schools. I am talking about all levels of school. I would'nt send my children there if I had any. I had to attend one of them when I moved here years ago, for my senior year. It was a nightmare. They were way behind the school I came from. I basically helped tutor students and type up there exams. When I first started I would get a weeks worth of work and have it done in one day. It was not very educational at all. The students ran over the teachers and got away with everything, even smoking weed in class. The teachers were too scared to say anything. If your talking about colleges, you definately don't want to go to PG. I have friends that go there and they hate it, but cannot afford to pay out of county. I hate to tell you this, but it is only my opinion.
