Schoolcraft Nursing Students- Fall 2011!

Hi everyone!!!

I'm starting Nursing School at Schoolcraft this coming Fall 2011 and wanted to see if anyone else on here was starting this Fall with me! I'm so excited to finally start the program after 2 years on the waiting list. Are you guys excited or what?!?!? :jester:

Hey guys... have you decided where your taking your CPR cert. yet? I thinking im going to take mine right at schoolcraft. Schoolcraft is 1 day for 89.00, while red cross is 1day per week for 3weeks and it cost more (forgot the exact price)... Just curious what you all found for CPR and price???

Wow, I didn't even know we could do it at Schoolcraft for one day only! That's good to know.

I was looking into the Red Cross too but it's very inconvenient for me because of the days/times that are available. Also, many of the classes are far away, like Warren, Riverview, etc.

I did find a place on Michigan.gov that is authorized through the American Heart Association: http://www.cprhis.com/index.html

I contacted them and they are offering classes this Saturday 4/9 at 10am and next Saturday 4/16 at 10am. He said the total cost is $60 and that includes everything, even your book.

I'm still undecided on where I want to take it though! Let me know what you decide.

I'm taking First Aid class (PE 121) right now at Schoolcraft so I'll get CPR certification there + some other stuff.

What are you guys doing about the two step tb testing? I can't get in to see my doctor until 4/14. A two step tb test takes a minimum of 9 days. I have no idea what to do

Nevermind. I just realized that if you have yearly tb testing you can just submit proof of that.

Or you can go to another doc ;)

As a child I had a vaccination against TB called BCG and because of it every TB test would be positive for me. So my doctor decided to go ahead and do chest x-ray. I didn't mind this option :) It is much faster and less suffering for me :)

Hows it coming guys... are you all chippin away at that check list, LOL! Only thing I have left is the meeting w/nursing office, online orientation, and CPR. CPR is scheduled for tomorrow... Im still so excited!!! Oh and side note HepB vaccine ouch:uhoh21:... arm is still hurting and I have to go back for part II Monday.

Did you guys get the updated letter? We need to have everything done before april22nd. I have everything done, finally.! I

I was wondering when they will be letting us know what time slot we will be getting for nursing fundamentals?
