  1. Here are a few of my tips that I felt helped me pass the nclex. I really do believe that taking it the sooner the better. I took it exactly 30 days after my last class day. I took Kaplan in class review, our school used ATI's. I bought the yellow Saunders Comprehensive Review, Saunders Q& A book here is what helped and how I utilized them. The week I after I graduated I took the Kaplan in class review. I followed the directions to the T. What I mean is that I did the question trainers in order. All 7. I did the predictor. My scores ranged from 58-69. I also did all the Q bank question trainers. I did 100 a day. I sat and did a min of 50 question. Sit and do 50 at a time. This is huge is builds up your stamina. I couldn't score above 60 for the life of me. Finally I broke 60 then started getting 64, around 1,000 questions I started scoring in the low 70's. I did not do the video's except I watched the video on the decision tree. Look at the questions you got wrong, and figure out why you missed it. At night I would do 1 chapter of Prioritization, Delegation and Assignment. Loved this little gem of a book, its worth its weight in gold. Read the rationales!!!!! How I utilized Saunders.... I did not read the whole book. If I came across a question I didn't know, I would look it up in the yellow book. I didn't use the questions in the yellow Saunder's book. I used the Q and A blue Saunders book when I needed to lay down and I was sick and tired of sitting at a computer. Loved this blue book, the rationales are next to questions I read the rationales if I got the question right or wrong. About one week before I took the NCLEX, I did go and revisit our ATI website. In the end I passed my nclex on the first try and had 75 questions. I feel my stress in my stomach but I forced myself to eat before I took my test because I knew my brain needed sugar to function. Good Luck I hope these tips help.
  2. Did you guys get the updated letter? We need to have everything done before april22nd. I have everything done, finally.! I I was wondering when they will be letting us know what time slot we will be getting for nursing fundamentals?
  3. Hi Guys! I am taking nursing Informatics right now and taking pharmacy in he spring. So far off to a good start! Did you guys get your paper work yet regarding fall info? Background checks, etc?
  4. I am in the informatics class now and will take pharm in the spring. I talked to the nursing department and they are getting ready to send the paper work out. They said to call if we don't receive paper work by the 2nd of April. Yeah! We are finally starting. Looking forward to meeting you guys and spending the next two years. Together.
  5. @Jpride2011 I didn't get an email, but I called the nursing office and they told me that since I am going to start in Fall 2011 that I am already given an automatic green light to register for the class. So I registered I am taking it in March. They said they are going to offer that class in the spring/summer. Aren't you excited!? The wait is almost over!
  6. this is terrible. I have friends who went out of state, came back and are now working as nurses. Washtenaw only accepts Washtenaw County Residents. I heard Wayne CC doesn't have a that long of a waitlist but 12 pre-req credits have to be done there. If you are waitlisted for that long go get your BSN. good luck everyone. I have been waiting 2 years and finally start September of 2011.
  7. Hi, I think I was one of the last people to take the NET at schoolcraft and now they are requiring the teas test. I am on the alternate list for 2010 but number #70 and if I don't get bumped up I am starting in Fall of 2011. I actually finished all my prereqs in July of 2009 and submitted my application in July as well. I talked to a staff member in the nursing department that said they are receiving alot of positive responses back for those that want to start in 2010 so they don't anticipate moving alot of people up. So it looks like 2011 for me as well. A good idea while you are waiting would be to take a stats class and finish general chemistry as well as biochem because those are classes needed for a BSN. Good luck everyone.
  8. I completed my last prereq in July of 2009 and I was number #70 on the waitlist for 2010 but for sure in the class starting in Fall of 2011. I heard the same thing that they did have a lot of positive responses for those for sure starting in Fall of 2010 so I don't think that they are going to be having to many people move there start date up. So I am looking forward to starting inthe Fall of 2011. Is anyone else starting in Fall of 2011?
