Hello Everyone. My name is Lisa. I currently attend Schoolcraft college and I'm in the process of finishing up my pre-reqs for the nursing program. Once I'm on the waitlist how long does it usually take to start the program at schoolcraft?. I've been told it's 2 years but I just wanted to know if anyone else that attends schoolcraft or knows someone who attends heard anything different. Thank You:)
That wouldn't happen because the 2012 - 2014 people who lost a spot to a 2015 would definitely sue. I know I would. That would be grossly unfair. You can't promise someone something and then take it back. You have to think if you were accepted for 2012 would you want them to cancel your spot and tell you to reapply? Then what if you got 2014 as opposed to 2012? That is too much drama for a spot in a program. Regardless of if people drop out or not, they will not have to worry about having someone who wants to take their spot.
this is terrible. I have friends who went out of state, came back and are now working as nurses. Washtenaw only accepts Washtenaw County Residents. I heard Wayne CC doesn't have a that long of a waitlist but 12 pre-req credits have to be done there. If you are waitlisted for that long go get your BSN. good luck everyone. I have been waiting 2 years and finally start September of 2011.

I didn't get an email, but I called the nursing office and they told me that since I am going to start in Fall 2011 that I am already given an automatic green light to register for the class. So I registered I am taking it in March. They said they are going to offer that class in the spring/summer. Aren't you excited!? The wait is almost over!
Hi , I am finally on a waitlist for a nursing program. I passed the TEAS , and got into the waitlist at Schoolcraft,,, I have been trying to get in to Wayne, DU, and Eastern for the past two years, and couldn't get in. Last year , when I looked up Schoolcraft, I couldn't apply because of a certain requirement I didn't have done, but this year they changed it I guess , so as soon as I found out a applied to take the test, even though I took it last at EMU, they wouldn't accept it. BUT anyway I am praying that I get in soon ,,, I really dont want to wait 2-3 years,,,, What are my chances ,,,,, anyone know???/
Hello.Well from what I hear there is no wait list at Baker college.the RN program is offered in clinton township.:)
Baker college has a nursing program and they accept applicants yearly I think and they use a point system like LCC and JCC. I heard it is just as competitive as the other nursing schools. Oakland University's 2nd degree accelerated program has 3 different cohorts a year, however, you may get accepted and have to wait a year to start, however, you can still get rejected. They do interviews too. Hopefully some day nursing school won't be so competitive. There are a lot of good candidates, but just not enough spots for everyone.
I went to an advisor at Baker College and she pretty much told me that the waitlist for Baker College was so long that it would take more than 4 years just to earn the ADN. She told me it wasn't worth my time. It's so irritating how we all get different answers depending on who we ask. Just in case it is ever a question, Schoolcraft's waitlist is now 5 years. Melbell is right, there are so many good candidates who should get in, but don't. I wish everyone good luck in their quests to become nurses!

That seems like such a waste of time to do something like that! And I think that they should get rid of it now! I mean you accept someone for 2015 for Christ sakes! Even if you got rid of it following Fall 2011 the Fall 2015 people would have a better chance of getting in with competitive entry. Well some people would. And I am sure there are several people on the list that would LOVE the opprotunity to apply for a spot in one of the earlier years. Even if they didn't get in for 2012 they had 3 more years to try before when they actually would have been starting. I just think that competitive entry overall is waaay better then waiting on a wait list for 3, 4 , or even 5 years!!
