Your school is not crazy or something. Just abide with the rules. It's part of the discipline which will come handy someday. No matter how ridiculous it seems, take is as part of the training.
As what one of my college professors said: "Forgive me if I made your day gloomy, but it's part of the training." And sure he was 200% right.
I have 2 different kinds of white uniforms, a community uniform, and sets of scrubs. For shoes, I have 2 kinds of white shoes and a pair of black shoes. I used all of it during school and hospital duty which are required by the school. It was mandatory to buy the first set of the uniforms and shoes even when you can borrow from those graduated already or if you will not get one, the school will still charge you. Is this too much? I think it is very costly.

Just want to know if is it just our school, or yours too?
"WHEN I FIRST SAW A group of nursing students walking along the shaded pathway, it made me reminisce my preschool days!
We all remember our preschool days, right? I remember that before we enter the classroom, our pre-school teacher would
order us to fall in line first and check if our nails are short. We wore our school uniforms and we tie our hairs in pig tails. We also have our lunchboxes and our bags which were all almost alike. We seemed to be clones of each other. Can you imagine this happening again?"
