Check out the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. They have a mission to increase the presence of minorities in health care and veiw all men as minorities in terms of the nursing profession.
I recieved a substantial scholarship/great through them.

Hey 313RN, How do I go about getting a scholarship from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Do I apply online or is it through the school your accepted to? Any sort of advice would be so helpful.
Thanks.

Berns, I can answer that question. I'm a senior nursing student just finishing up my BSN, and I also received a generous scholarship from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. I was awarded the money by my school (the University of Missouri - St. Louis). Like several dozen other nursing schools around the country, UMSL was given a large grant by the RWJ Foundation to help attract men and female minorities into nursing. The foundation funnels the money to the universities it chooses to partner with, and the university or college selects the students who will get the scholarship. You have to go to a college that's gotten a grant from the foundation in order to qualify for the scholarship.
Hope that helps.

One of my classmates got one from a fraternal organization with a strange name that I can't remember. I seem to remember that he said it was for males entering the nursing field. It may have only been a local award and this was many years ago. Will look for it and pass on the info if I find it.

Financial Aid Office is your best friend :)
Thanks all, esp. ItsTheDude, I believe I have about a 3.0 average for some of the scholarships I read, so I'm gonna take charge and apply. Take care
