i failed my nclex a couple of weeks ago and have just received my new att. my question is this and perhaps some of you who have failed the first time could give me some advice. when should i schedule my exam? should i schedule it as soon as my 45 days are up or do you feel that more time is needed to study? let me make you aware that right now i am unable to work due to failing the first time and not being certified as a nursing assistant. my nurse manager was great and suggested i take a personal leave of absence and that she would hold my job, didn't want me to quit. although it is a little tough not having money coming in, i can devote a good deal of time to studying. i am afraid of overkill. is there such a thing as over studying?
any suggestions would be very appreciated from your experiences. i do not want to fail a second time...i don't think i could handle it emotionally.
thanks for listening and i can't wait to hear from you.

Depends on how you study, don't rush to take it but make sure you study appropriately. May want to think about Suzanne's plan but will take longer than 45 days as you need to complete the first tip first

I know it varies from each person, but how long about does the first tip take when doing Suzanne's plan. Are we talking a week or a month?

if you failed the nclex, ul start all over again from application? or ul just have to pay another amount? ty
When you fail the nclex, at least in my State you have to fill out a retest application that is only one page and send in a $15.00 fee. Then you have to go back to Pearson Vue and register again and again pay the $200.00 fee. After all that gets squared away which took about a week for me, you will then receive a new ATT and be able to make a new appt. Hope this helps
Depends on how you do the chapters
You do not have to start all over again if you fail, most states it is a case of completing a retest form and pay fees, will also have to pay pearsonvue again

There should be an amount listed on the form that you need to resubmit to them. Otherwise expect it to be the same as what you had to submit before to them for licensure.
