That all depends on how many other obligations you have, if you have been in some type of nursing prior to your program, and how dedicated a student you are.

I dont know that it would serve you to wait to take the micro. I'd get it in as soon as possible.

My first trip through nursing school, I too, took micro with my first nursing classes. I made high B's in both classes, but it was a lot of work, and I was not working. I am a single mom. Had it not been for my parents, I don't think I would have survived. I didn't get any help from the ex-husband then, and I won't be getting any from him now that I'm going back for my degree.

I think you need to look at all of your obligations and take it from there.

when is micro required in your program? it's not required until nursing 3 in my program, i think of the few that haven't taken it yet most are taking it over summer, but i think a couple are taking it with nursing 3. i didn't take anything with nursing 1, i just wanted to see how nursing would be before taking anything along with it. but that's just how i think. are you taking any other classes in the fall? as someone said in another thread, don't worry about what others say, do what you decide is best for you. good luck in whatever you decide.

I'm not sure about when to take micro...but I'm hoping to get it done very early on in the program...maybe over a summer. But for fall '02 I am taking a CNA certification class and Sociology 101. I'm really looking foward the the CNA course!

I tried taking it with last nursing classes last semester. I couldn't keep up with it and had to drop it. I signed up for it this summer at a different college. Our instructor is too hard. Hopefully I can make it through this time. There are 4 of us going to UC for that class and we're carpooling. Wish me luck!

In my program, you must take Micro as a pre-req before any of the nursing courses.

However, I would think it best to take it as soon as possible. There is information in the course that would make your learning a bit easier...or at least a lot of things would make much more sense when you came to them in class. This is from experience.
