You are going to see hundreds of bills like this, unless they get passed in the House as well as the Senate; they are not going to exist.

So many get added on to another bill, and cancelled because the other bill gets cancelled. We see it all of the time here. And until it at least gets passed thru either the Senate or the House, it does not go anywhere. Just because it was submitted means not a thing.

And for blanket approval until 2017 will have many against it, especially the nursing unions.

Hi, Suzanne!

What do you mean by "hundreds of bills like that"? On one hand, it is encouraging that so many efforts are done. On the other hand,it is frustrating because it means that so many efforts achieve nothing.

And why don't they just introduce a separate bill for recapturing visas or nurses, and not amend it to some other bill - the technique that is less successful? (Naive questions).

How long do you think it will take for the House for example to pass STRIVE or reject it? How long did it take Congress last year to reject the CIR bill?

Thanks.

Hi Suzanne!... I know that this question was answered a lot of times already, but with the kind of situation...with the CIR...it's like taking one step forward and taking 2 steps back.... with your credible predictions, do you think there will still be available visas for nurses this summer? Thanks!

This is only a bill that has been put forward to be voted on, nothing more. As I mentioned above, you are going to see hundreds of bills submitted before anything is approved.

There are currently more important immigration issues going on right now in the US that need the attention first of the House of Representatives and Congress. Such as a large part of our taxes going to pay for illegal immigrants that need medical care, etc. The number of illegal immigrants is escalating in a daily basis and this needs to be addressed first, and you will see that done before anything with the nurses is going to happen.

Nursing visas are important to those that want them, but not to others as it does not affect them. But paying out increased taxes to cover illegal immigrants affects everyone in the US.

There should be something available this summer, but for if for all? That is anyone's guess at this time. I expect things to open up first for those not from the PIC countries and Mexico, just due to the number that have applied from there.

But anything that I think, or anyone else does, is strictly opinion only, and the only one that can make any changes to what is happening now is the US government; and not any Senator or member of the House of Representatives.

to be honest it is just a waiting game and waiting to see what happens with the various bills that keep popping up. Hopefully something will be sorted in the next couple of months but no guarantees
