SCF Nursing Fall 2018

Published

I will be applying to the nursing program this Fall 2018. Is there anyone who was accepted the last two semesters? If so, what was your prerequisite GPA and what campus did you apply/get accepted to?

If you are applying this same semester what is your GPA and have you completed all nine of the prerequisite courses?

I am trying to determine my chances on getting into this program feel free to leave any advice and comments :)

I noticed that too. Lol hopefully it's before!!

When did you attend the info session? Today was the last day so I wonder how many more people applied since you attendedí ½í¸³í ½í¸³

Fingers crossed we all get good news! Is there any one here that was accepted last admission cycle and can give us an idea at what GPA they cut off at?

I went to an info session last Tuesday and this is what she said

- At the time they had received 300 applications. There were people who applied though who weren't necessarily qualified, some didn't even have all the prereq's or minimum gpa. She thought there were so many this time because they got rid of the TEAS requirement. Because of that she thought next fall they might add some other kind of admission requirement.

- 140 applicants so far had all prereq's and gen eds completed, so they automatically have admission priority. There are 80 seats available, 40 at each campus, so there will probably be people with all 9 classes who still won't get in. This was also 1 week before the deadline so that number has probably gone up.

- They will rank by prereq gpa first, and then look at overall gpa from there. She said if you have a 3.0 you probably won't get in, a 4.0 you probably will be coming in. But anywhere between that, like a 3.3 or 3.2, she couldn't guess. Someone also asked how many applicants in the past have had 4.0 and she said not a lot, maybe a few.

Does anyone know if they disperse applicants over to both locations? I only applied to the Bradenton but now I'm regretting it since I heard that the Venice campus is less competitive.

You will only be considered for the campus that you applied to.

When it asked you about what campus you were applying to, did you enter "both" or "Bradenton"?

I've heard that Venice is much less competitive.

You could try contacting them and see if they'll update your application to both campuses

When I attended the information session, she said Bradenton was very competitive, however, if you had all requirements completed and there was a seat available at Venice, it would be offered to the Bradenton applicant if all selected location seats are filled (she said they give you about a day or two to decide). With that being said, the 25th can't come any sooner. I'm continuously checking my email several times a day- you know, just in case lol. All 9 classes are completed with pre-req gpa 4.0 and over all is 3.9 but I'm still shaking in my boots! I'm praying for a seat! Hope we all get accepted. Best of luck to all!

Seems like information changes daily.

I'm just ready to find out. I'm going nuts.

Agreed! Hoping all who get accepted are notified before the 25th. Good luck!

Anyone heard anything?! LOL

Nope ☹️
