Anyone else submit their apps for SCC or ARC for fall 2021?I submitted my SCC packet last week and ARC the other day. I was hoping my online app status would change to received but it still says submitted
I emailed ARC and here is the response I got
We send notifications via email for students who are selected and who are qualified but not selected.

What email do they email ?
They will send an email to you that will tell you that you're either selected or you were qualified but not selected. It will go to your losrios email. If you were not qualified, you probably will get a letter in the mail about that.
If you were selected as an alternate, consider that as "qualified but not selected" with the possibility of being admitted if someone that was accepted declines to enroll. There usually is a small number of students accepted that do not enroll because they were accepted elsewhere and they'd prefer to go there or their situation (whatever that is) changed and they're unable to attend. Therefore it is understandable there aren't very many students put into the "alternate selection" status.
I'm a graduate of SCC's program. I was selected to attend both ARC's and SCC's programs for the same starting semester. I looked at both and chose SCC's program because it (quite literally) fit my work schedule better and it was closer to home. I believe I would have had an equally good education at ARC, so don't base YOUR decision to attend SCC or ARC on anything other than your own personal situation.
As to when you'll hear back from SCC and ARC, that's usually about 1 week or so before the deadline for them to indicate your status but they can wait until that last week. I applied about 7 or 8 times to those programs and they usually sent out the acceptance/rejection notices within the last two weeks. Remember that they're getting hundreds of applications to evaluate and it's not an automated process. That's why it takes weeks from application deadline to notify all the applicants of their status.
My advice, once you turn in your applications, continue doing your best in any courses you're still enrolled in, don't stress about your applications as they are what they are. If you went through the multi-criteria form and it says you're qualified, and you've supported all the necessary things, you're going to be found "qualified" so... there's nothing in your control after that.
If you get an "accepted" letter, follow those instructions very closely. It's all part of the process and that process extends into the first week of class.
