Anyone else submit their apps for SCC or ARC for fall 2021?I submitted my SCC packet last week and ARC the other day. I was hoping my online app status would change to received but it still says submitted

Try Yuba College. Merit based. In Marysville, which is not very far from Sac. I was accepted there and will start in August. The schedule for theory, lab and clinical seems super manageable and the scheduling is consistent (key for me as I too have three kiddos). Best wishes to you.

Just received an email of acceptance for ARC Fall 2021
I also was accepted to both programs but can't really speak to the quality of the ARC program. I know that they branched off from SCC, which somewhat pushed me to go for SCC. I'm also closer to SCC so the shorter commute to campus and our clinical sites was a bonus. Since the program's history is longer, our relationship with our clinical sites Is really strong. For example, in my first semester SCC was the first nursing program in the area to be let back into Kaiser South Sac. All of our clinical sites also have a really high opinion of our students because the instructors place an emphasis on our clinical performance/participation. In my personal experience, many of the nurses I worked with preferred SCC students instead of Sac State students because of how hands on we are encouraged to be.
In terms of classes themselves, ARC currently has a single 10 unit class each semester, whereas SCC has a single 12 unit class. SCC will be shifting to that 10 unit platform with the addition of a supplemental class (this is not applicable to my cohort and the current first semester, so I don't know much about it). As far as clinical sites, in the first semester you are split into 3 groups: Mercy Gen, Kaiser South Sac, and UCDMC. 2nd sem we are all at UCDMC. 3rd sem is a little dysfunctional due to Covid, but we are forsure at UCDMC or Kaiser (if you were at Kaiser your first sem) and should be at Sutter Psych (if not we participate in similar settings for our psych rotation). For fourth sem your preceptorship can be at UCDMC or Mercy Gen, San Juan, Folsom. I'm not quite sure where ARC rotates but I would assume we share some if not all clinical sites.
Overall, I wouldn't have changed my decision. Having the opportunity to be a student at SCC has been amazing. Our professors truly care about all of us, and get to know us on an individual basis. Older cohorts are also super helpful in passing on their knowledge and resources. To me the program is like a big family. Hopefully that helps you out and if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

Not for ARC. ARC keeps the documents. You can probably find the info online still. They should send a little document with the rejection about next time’s applications!
