Hello!

Haven't seen a thread for Sac City's Fall 2020/Spring 2021 nursing application yet and thought I should create one. Good luck everyone! ?

Just out of curiosity for those who were not accepted and those who were, how many time have you applied now? And if more than 1x, how many different schools?

I'm trying to decide if I should try and apply to private schools even though it's more money than I really have to spend. Thanks!

It's my first time applying and I applied at 6 different schools with Modesto being the furthest away. (I'm in Sacramento). I've only heard back from SCC and one other and everyone else is on hold. I also debated on the private school route, but I am really trying to stay away just because of the cost. I'm thinking about branching out a bit further and just commute (maximum 2 hours one way), but I'm not positive yet. I'm still trying to decide if I should go private and be in debt or just sacrifice some time for the next 2 years commuting, but be in a better position financially. Did you apply anywhere else?

I’ve applied 6 times (3 schools) and no luck yet. Hoping for ARC, if not I may look at private.

This was my first time applying to all three local community schools. I was gearing up for Yuba this Summer (currently taking pathophysiology and pharmacology) I am older have children and needed to get in ASAP. I have the discipline of working extra and paying off student loans so private schools didn’t scare me financially. However, if it were my older daughter I might have different advice for her depending where she was financially. I think everyone’s situation is unique but I was one that was going to apply everywhere and anywhere.

if you can look into taking Old Testament/New Testament coursework and could move/travel to Redding Simpson University is a GREAT program and they have minimal applicants. In my opinion a faith based education is a wonderful thing. Just an option!

Dont give up whatever you do!

Hello everyone,

This is my second year applying to sac city and I got my acceptance notification to Spring 2021, yesterday. Good luck to everyone, hope everything works out well.

We will be classmates! Super exciting!

This was my first time applying and I applied to 5 schools. So far I’ve heard back from 2, Sac City and Sierra and got accepted into both.

I’m applying tonight for those two classes! Hoping I get them so I have the option to apply to yuba. I also have kids and older so hoping to get in sooner rather than later LOL. Good luck!

Hi! I got super lucky and got into Sierra college on my first round of applications. I also applied to scc, arc, and delta. Everywhere is taking so much longer now due to covid. I would say if you consider a private school just think about paying most/all of the loans Off in the first few years. I’ve talked to many travel nurses who did that and now have the ability to work and just make money! All their loans were paid off in 1-4 years even with $50,000 in debt. It’s possible and honestly if I didn’t get in this round I probably was going to do that route too. It’s hard though. I was accepted to chamberlain in Sacramento in 2018 but couldn’t go because the loans up front were too much and I couldn’t get enough money in loans to go because I would have gotten a second bachelors. The government will only give so much to someone trying to get a second degree. Every person has their own route, but I think the expensive route can work if you can secure the money.

This is also my first time applying to programs. I applied to a total of 5 programs (ARC and SCC being 2 of those 5). So far, I have only heard from SCC and unfortunately, was not randomly selected in that lottery. It really is a bummer, but really hoping to get good news from at least ONE LOL! Wishing you the best of luck throughout your nursing application journey!

Also, I know it’s not ideal to be part of a first semester program bu William Jessup is launching their program “planning” August 2021. Also need new/Old Testament. But another option. The teachers there are top notch!

You will get them! I loved the online ones and did well.

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted, and good luck to everyone still waiting to find out!

I was accepted into Sac City for Spring 2021. I applied to ARC as well, so I'm one less person in the running for that program. If anyone makes any sort of classmates group for Spring 21, please let me know.

I’m in with you so let me know if you hear of anything. I got my confirmation email today that said that they would be emailing in October.

They haven’t released it yet but I have talked to the Dean and they are starting August 2021. They haven’t announced anything because due to the buildings it got delayed. They had to push it back because they are building the facilities.
