I am suppose to start nursing school in Jan. I worked really hard to get I to Ns. I just had baby #2 and I'm worried that it might be to much, all I've been hearing is how tough it is. I don't want to fail and get kicked out and since I have to take out student loans it scares me. Did anyone else get scared in the beginning.

I started this past August and was terrified. It's a tough program and I've had my breakdowns, in and out of class. But, I had my first clinical yesterday and was so glad I'm toughing it out. It was an AMAZING experience. I do not have children but many of my classmates do and you're going to HAVE to have someone who is willing to watch them when you can't. If you don't have a awesome support system it is almost impossible to finish this program, but possible if you set your mind to it. You're friends and family will have to understand you will not have a life until you graduate. I'm not trying to scare you, just letting you know everything I've learned. It is well worth it though! :)
Thank you. I know it's just my fears taking over me. I can't wait to start clinicals. I know it is going to be tough but I know I can do it. I just have to have more faith in myself. thanks again.

Wow I'm so glas to see this thread. I am also starting ns in January and have a 5 yr. old son and 2 yr old son. I'm scared as well about it and I know I have a big family and a lot of support but I'm still worried. I just want so badly to do well! Good Luck for us both :)

Good Luck! I am almost done with my second semester of nursing school, so my LPN boards are right around the corner. (4 weeks away) I think that the time waiting to get in the program is really stressful, because all you hear is it is SO HARD!!! I think that it is not as tough as I imagined. Waiting around to start you have way too much time to psych yourself out! Also, always remember a B nurse is still a nurse. I think that much of the stress is from all of us nursing students being used to getting A's all the time, and wanting to maintain that perfection. With anything less than an 80 being an F, it takes total adjustment to the grading scale and ego! Take a deep breath, it is attainable! It is super time consuming, so be prepared to put your time in. You will do fine! :)

I am in my last semester of Nursing School and will be graduating in December. I remember being afraid. I will not lie, it is tough however it is manageable. I am graduating with at least 3 mothers in my class and they were able to pull though. Just stay calm and determined and anything is possible! Good luck :)
Thanks for the encouragement!!! My sister graduated law school in the top ten of 300 with twin girls and tehy were one and half when she started so I just keep thinking about that..Her best advice was to take it one semester at a time so thats what i've been trying to do :)
