Saunders success stories?

I'm just starting to freak out a little!! I've been reviewing in the Saunders Comprehensive book, as well as done all the questions in the q & a book, and have taken quiz after quiz and tests on the cd. I FEEL prepared, but then there are a lot of posts on here that say Saunders is way too easy compared to the actual exam and Saunders alone is not going to cut it. Is there anyone here that studied Saunders alone and was successful the first attempt? TIA!! I'm supposed to test in 2 days!!

I used mainly Saunders to review. I was averaging 70-75% on their practice questions... took the test yesterday. It shut off at 75 questions. I did the pearsonvue trick, and it won't let me re-register, so I'm having a pretty good feeling. But as far as the test questions being harder than Saunders, I don't think they are. They are tricky, pretty much every question has 2 right answers and you have to choose the better one, but as far as needing specific knowledge of disease processes, meds, etc. I had very few questions like that. Hope this helps!

I am only using Saunders....I test next week!

I used Saunders ONLY and let me be the first to say NCLEX is not what people say or think it is. Yes, you have to know your stuff but I had exams worst than NCLEX. If I can give any advice brush up on simple things, such as positioning, electrolytes, tubes, and if you can't remember the interventions for a disease LOOK IT UP!! DO NOT, focus on the disease itself but the interventions.

GOOD LUCK!!! I really didn't think it was a horrible test, not even close.

wow this relieves some of my stress! Since I started studying on May 18 and everyday since with at least 75-100 a day, do you its reasonable to say I'm ready to take it by July 1?

I think you are more ready than what you are giving yourself credit. Read over Nurse Practice Act, Infection Control, positioning (e.g. a pt receiving continuous TPN, AKA, Burns, etc.) Let me know if I can help. DO NOT STRESS, it is not that bad. I PROMISE.:D

Thanks everyone!! I test tomorrow and I literally feel sick right now. I think everyone in my class that has taken it just has me worked up and I need to learn how to tune them out. 10 of my classmates have taken it so far, and 9 have passed, so I feel like the pressure is ON! Plus, if I don't pass tomorrow, I lose the job I have on the floor! I just need someone to tell me it isn't that bad, even if it is! My family doesn't understand why I've been studying so hard. They think this is just like every other test, and if I made it through nursing school, plus have a BS in something else, then this should be no problem. HA!!

Outsiders just don't understand, but believe in yourself and with God's help you'll do just fine.
