Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a good day.
We have a worker's comp. patient on our unit that's been very difficult and downright belligerent at times. His case manager who deals with our case manager seems frustrated as well.
I'm still processing how I fell for that scam. My phone says I dialed 1-888-number but the number I should have dialed was 1-833-same number, so maybe I misdialed? But I also wasn't listening but I swear they answered as Spectrum. But I got suspicious too late and let it go a little too far. The charges remain on my account and the guy said that within 48 hours they would be removed but it might be up to 60 for them to complete their investigation to see if they are going to side with me. I Googled the address of the charges and it's a house in Kansas. Also when I opened my app before I deleted it asked to use my current location and it seemed to switch from Africa to Florida. Deleted that app. I hope it doesn't get messy. Checking today and all seems okay.
The experience left a whole in the pit of my stomach as I learn a lesson.
My Netflix and Spotify use my debit card so I had to change the payment methods. Pretty much everything else uses my bank directly. But I have to check and see how the dog's healthcare is taken out. Bleh.
Anyway, off today and don't have any big plans. Will most likely lay low and watch some Netflix.
Why do I always end up erasing my long texts? How very annoying of me. I wish I knew which button that I accidentally hit on the laptop that was the 'take everything away' button!
SO! I had a good appt w/ the hearing aid place and learned a few very helpful things about them. Now I only have to call them if I need to. Did I already mention that the batteries are free for the life of my hearing aids? I just have to go by the office and say "Gimme some more." Now all I have to do is pay on the two charge cards I had to split the cost of the hearing aids on. 😣
Then I had about an hour and 3/4's before I had to pick up Nannie, so I decided to wander around BELK'S dept store. Little did I know that they were having a buy one, get one free sale, and a 50% off sale on the very items I have had on my list to get for MORE than a few months. So I ended up probably spending more than I should have, with my new Belk's charge card, but I got 2 bras. 2 pair of panties, a Winter vest, a large purse that will accommodate the things I have to carry around and also carry daily from upstairs to downstairs and vice versa. Oh and I ordered two pair of shoes (clogs) which are on there way to me in the mail. If they are not right I can bring them back over to Belk's to return them and they will take the charges off the accordingly. I won't tell you HOW MUCH I spent, but I will tell you that I 'saved' $177+ and am happy with my purchases.
So, it is Saturday (the middle four letters, from 't' to 'd', describe the day).
Tinker finally caught the little lizard that was scooting around the den for several days. I don't know WHEN she did so, but the good news is she didn't try to eat it, just killed it. I found it on the floor between the kitchen and the 'formal' (unused) dining room). If I had been able to, I would have trapped it and escorted it outside because I think they are cute, and they are pretty harmless and I like them because they DO eat bugs. But they do get inside SOMEHOW, so the problem is not eliminated, just taken care of for now.
Tinker is sleeping on the sofa beside me, and Nannie is squinting out at the back yard, and......YES, she has been showing me her damm shoes that she has had for years and the jersey I put on her because the sleeves already cover her wrists without her eternally yanking the sleeves down. SiL also apparently got her a pair of knee socks, because she put them on her yesterday. Two things that give her NO reason to tug and pull at her clothing, but I am NOT wondering 'what's next?" for her to fiddle with......if you ask that of the day, you will certainly find out, and I do NOT want to find out! Mebbe I'll be lucky and she will fall asleep deeply, for the remaining hours before supper.
Ho-hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. (Not to be confused with Ommmmm)!
Today is gray and drizzly, despite yesterday's forecast that it would be partly sunny. that does not fit with dh's plan to start painting the deck railing. The handyman was 3 hours late to come to power wash the deck and railings, but now it's done. I thought the dogs would be upset with strangers working just outside the kitchen door, but they were mostly cling-y. I stayed in to keep them calm and to pay when they were done, but it took longer than I thought, and I spent the afternoon on Netflix.
I booked a massage for this afternoon, and plan to watch the Mariners play baseball at 5. Otherwise, no huge plans.
Annie, that is such good news about your DiL. Your little Isla is sooo sweet. Are the other kitties getting used to her?
Dianah, I like doctor visits like that. In and out, see ya next year. From my past experience in working with vaccines, I would say the shingles vaccine is very effective, about 90% I think. The old shingles vaccine was only about 50% effective. Your risk for zoster goes up as you age, unfortunately.
A pina colada sounds good. I prefer tart drinks, so I usually go with gin and tonic.
I worry about dh getting caught in a scam. He insists on opening emails from unknown senders. And he buys "virus blockers" that are notorious for infecting a pc.
Stars, I love a good buy-one-get one free sale.
Part of my issue is I've never been roped into a scam on the phone from someone I called, much less any other time, so my guard was down. Last time my identity was stolen it was out of the blue and seemed random. I'm good at knowing emails asking for account information are scams and I don't answer calls from people or organizations I don't know. Even when I get a legit email, I'll won't click the link in the email but go to the website myself.
The above has shaken me and my self-confidence, but gotta move on I guess. I feel like I'm in an alternative universe. I will cancel the cable TV when George leaves and keep internet only and it appears this has been done. They said the TV will go off immediately but it's still on going on three days. I called and they said it was off and I said no it isn't. They said it there may be a delay. But really it should stay on until the end of the billing cycle is what I'm thinking.
I spent 40 minutes on continuing education that I was three days past due and am debating asking to be paid since I never have two minutes to spare at work, much less 40 minutes.
I washed and changed the sheets and went to the gym. So a relatively productive day. No appetite but weight while six pounds lost total seems to be stable. I see my primary md on Tuesday for a routine visit and GI doc told me to wait until next Friday to test my stool for infection if I'm still symptomatic. So far I am and not hopeful it won't stop by Friday.
I yam naught doin' NUTTIN'. I DO have household things to do, (when do I not?) but I am still sitting on the sofa with no plans to get up until I have to prepare you-know-who's supper. I did take Tinker out twice because she thinks she sees something, but nothing is out there. She barked at a few acorns when they fell in the woods and made leaves rustle and landed with a small 'thunk'. I wish I could let her off leash so she could wear herself out by running freely. I kind of wish I could do that for myself, too! 😂
nursej22, thanks for the info on the shingles vaccine. I do NOT want to get shingles, so will likely schedule an appointment for it. Not sure if I want the Covid vaccine, though I am up-to-date -- due soon though, if I'm going to get it.
No Stars, you made a HAUL! It's always satisfying to get things we do need, at a reduced price!
Tweety, smh that you are still having symptoms. I'm glad you are following with the GI MD. Wow, when will George be moving back to his condo?
Have a good evening!
Tomorrow: It will be a wash ALL the considerable amount of laundry and do ALL the dishes and the kitchen floor day. I'm saying this now because those things HAVE TO get done and I'm the only one to do them. I may not be on-line tomorrow.
I have spent the afternoon keeping Nannie company in the den and watching HGTV, and sighing over and over again.
My "nice" curse word today has been Chocolate-Fudge Ripple!

Stars hope this hearing aid adjustment does the trick
Dianah my dad had the old shingles vaccine as is trying to determine if he needs the updated one
Tweety these scammers are clever, had to change my bank login and password after being taken in by a fake email a few years ago
Ado glad that she can now leave the ICU
Yesterday was pretty good. Did get a new and somewhat complicated case at the middle of the day but otherwise things were fine at work
After work was good too. Exercised and made another pina colada, this time with the right ingredients. Much improved
Today should be pretty ordinary. Will meet dad for lunch. After lunch might drop by an informational event the village is having about one of our local creeks. Thinking about bird watching this morning, not sure where I'm headed for that
Will be another warm day in the upper 80s
